It has been widely controversial that the current account deficit and the growth has a parallelism in their own concept. In other words, the common sense presents a knowledge that the process of growth causes mainly a big gap in current account with using the development tools of the mainstream economics. On the one hand, some economic actors and authorities presume that this positive relationship provides a valid concern to look at the countries' data and show their mechanisms of economies such as USA, Spain, Greece and also Turkey. On the other hand, some others reject this parallelism and oppose to the increase in growth in terms of redounding of current account deficit to indicate China, Singapore or India. This paper contributes to the literature in three ways. First, it explains the meaning of current account in the balance of payments and presents evidence by showing that the importance of current account has increased in the history with the process of globalization. Moreover, it examines growth strategies for different countries by

3 answering following questions: Which techniques of growth they utilize? How these techniques reverberate their economic movements and what are those effects? After all these explanations and informations; we then analyze the significance of relationship between current account deficit and the growth for countries' economies by separating countries into two spheres: center and periphery. Secondly, the paper analyzes the impacts of certain macroeconomic variables such as the exchange rate interventions and the interest rate adjustments on the balance of payments, especially on the current account. Finally, the paper offers an understanding of manners that the current account deficit and the growth rate fluctuations before and during the recent economic crisis. We explore the behaviours of center and periphery countries, since they have moved in an unusual way for their economic targets. For example, the periphery countries have become more attractive for investors and economic authorities owing to a valued exchange rate and high interest rates. Accordingly, their current accounts and growth rates have taken a shape around those economic policies. To sum up, this paper explores the answers to those questions and situations, more specifically an accurate relationship between the current account and the growth. - The Impacts of the Recent Economic Crisis on Labor M arkets and Its Interaction with Poverty and Inequality, 14th International Students' Conference on Economis (May 11-13, 2011) Abstract: The paper aims to analyze one of the most important issues in economic field, the global crisis within the content of its effects on labor market and its interaction with poverty and inequality. It has been argued and prevalented that the effects of the economic crisis have moderated mostly from the adjustment of the labor force. In other words, the burden of the negative process of crisis have damped from the labor force. In the lights of these arguments, on the one hand, some economic actors and authorities presume that the labor market policies of neoclassical economics are the optimum condition to heal the downturn of the recession in production. On the other hand, some others reject the theories and process of labor markets in neoclassical concept, however, they support the intervention of government in that markets by abolishing the drastic neoliberal policies such as flexibility, deregulation and informal activities. We first examine how the recent economic crisis has worsened the inner dynamics of the labor force via increasing the unemployment rate, enlarging the income distribution gap, decreasing the overall wage levels and destroying the transparency in World economy. Furthermore, we also question how the concept of poverty and inequality shaping as presenting them an aggreagte economical welfare and how they have changed in the pre and post periods of the recent global crisis. Secondly, we will ascertain how the labor market implementations have deteriorated with a particular focus on the effects of globalization. Moreover, the paper will examine two different countries which are Brazil and Turkey. These are developing countries and have some similar characteristics upon the concept of economical dynamics. In addition to analysis of the structure of these countries, we also emphasize the growth techniques and interconnection with both labor force and welfare economics. We use our observations on labor markets between the years. Of course, the paper assert mostly the analysis within the economic turbulences, however the years before that shows how these variables have been affected and the development of the destruction of economical welfare and labor force. To sum up, this paper explores the answers to those questions and situations, more specifically an accurate relationship of financial crisis within the labor force and welfare economics.

4 - Finansallaşma, Tekeller ve Ekonomik Krizler Arasındaki İlişkinin Ekonomi Politiği, 15th International Students' Conference on Economics (May 11-13, 2012) Özet: 2008 yılında başlayan Üçüncü Büyük Depresyon başlangıcından günümüze kadar geçen süre içerisinde yaşanan sorunların halen çözümlenememiş olması, mevcut ana akım ekonomi politikalarının sorgulanmasını beraberinde getirmiştir. - Heterodoks Ekonomi Politikaları Çerçevesinde Neoliberalizmin Türkiye İncelemesi: Keynesgil ve Marksist Bir Bakış Açısı (with Ömer Tuğsal Doruk), 6th International Conference on Political Economy, ICOPEC 2014 (September 23-25, 2014) Özet: 2000'li yıllar neoliberal ekonomi politikalarının, özellikle gelişmekte olan ülkelerde, etkisini tüm ağırlığıyla gösterdiği yıllardır.
