5 PHASES PHASE 1 Formation of Technical Expert Working Groups and basic translation of BREEAM Manual into Turkish. (DONE)
TRANSLATION Formed a core group from BREEAM Assessors in Turkey, Some of them from member firms, Rest are independent Assessors, Create a common dictionary of terms. (DONE)
PHASE 2 (Phases 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d and 2e will run simultaneous to each other) TGBC will share the outcomes of these phases with BRE along the way and in each stage BRE s input will be incorporated into the comments section.
PHASE 2a Consultation with academicians from various universities, and formation of Comments Section for each Issue. During this phase each technical committee will meet with academicians with expertise in the specific issue group and consult on the highlighted areas which need further information and/or evaluation within the specific context of Turkey. The necessary studies/research will be conducted after these meetings and incorporated into the Comments section for each issue criteria. (INPROGRESS)
PHASE 2b Consultation with practitioners specific to the issue, and relevant boards (board of architects, board of mechanical engineers etc.) This phase will involve consultation with practitioners in the field in the relevant issue criteria. ÇEDBİK has access to practitioners in the field both directly through its members and indirectly through the wider construction industry connections it has. The aim during this consultation period is to gain further insight into the practice aspect of the issue, the availability/price of relevant technologies, feasibility of its application in Turkey and relevant codes/restrictions. (IN PROGRESS)
PHASE 2c Consultation with Conractors/Developers A one to two day workshop will be conducted with developers and contractors in the field where the by now draft BREEAM Manual with comments will be shared and feedback requested from the participants.

FOUR MODELS Licence Model (Intellectual property rights) We do the adaptation (proposed changes) to the underlying principles of BRE-GLOBAL ourselves and submit to BRE- GLOBAL After the approval, we will develop the technical manual BRE conducts an on-site audit against the Core Process Standard (BES 5301). Guidance on fixing non-conformity issues

INNOVATION CREDITS Assessors doing the assessment and the consultancy- Conflict of interest? BREEAM Aps only in UK-This is unfair Each GBC should develop their BREEAM-AP qualification
Man1:Difficult to implement, achieving the first Credit ID ok as a minimum standard, but not the second one. BRE should provide a checklist for commissioning Wat1/2: Water is an important issue in Turkey, this should be introduced as a minimum standard from the Pass Level, or increase the number of points available under these issues.
Mat 3 and 4: Reuse Mat 3:Reuse of building façade Mat 4:Reuse of building structure Very difficult to get Pol 5: Flood risk This criteria should also cover other natural catastrophic, such as: mud flows earthquakes
Materials, Mat 1, 2 and 6: Green Guide Green guide is that the materials in the list are rather British and materials commonly used in Turkey are lacking The Green guide appears as a black box that needs to be opened Our concerns have been related to the evaluation of materials produced by low carbon electricity, e.g. rock wool produced in Turkey Council of XPS producers in Turkey claim that XPS products in Turkey have higher rating due to their production methods in Turkey than BREEAM claims How about a BREEAM Bespoke Green guide for such materials
Ene 1: Reduction of CO2emissions -15 credits Credit aim: To recognize and encourage buildings that are designed to minimize the CO2emissions associated with their operational energy consumption. Pointing out that we should be focusing on energy performance of buildings, but not only CO2emissions National energy calculation (NCM) method is being worked on to be completed end of In current projects the Checklist A7 has been used giving maximum possibility of 10 points-we think CHECKLIST A7 is weak and not a fair replacement for energy modelling.
