2 "Fakat geçtiğimiz 2013 yılından bu yana, ülkemde ve dünyada olan gelişmeleri izledikçe insanlığın önemli bir eşik atladığını ve farkındalığının tüm zamanlarınkinden daha çok arttığını düşünüyorum." Yeni bir yıl daha, yeni bir umudu peşine takarak girdi hayatımıza.benim doğduğum 1975 yılında insanlar 2014 yılını uzay çağı ya da dünyayı robotların ele geçirdiği bir dönem olarak düşlüyorlardı. Oysa ne robotlar yaratıldı insan gücünün yerine geçecek ne de bilim büyük sıçrayışlar yaptı. Ne dünya güneşten korunmak için cam bir kubbeyle çevrelendi ne de uçan arabalar icat edildi. Anlaşılan yerimizde sayıyoruz. Bilim kurgu hikayelerini okudukça iyi ki de yerimizde sayıyoruz diyorum. Ama bazı konular var ki, keşke yerimizde saymasak dedirtiyor insana. Örneğin, dünyadaki açlık, savaşlar, çevre felaketleri, kendi kaderlerine terk edilmiş yoksul insanlar, v.s. Bunlar insan ırkının hala ilkellikten kurtulamadığının bir göstergesi. Fakat geçtiğimiz 2013 yılından bu yana, ülkemde ve dünyada olan gelişmeleri izledikçe insanlığın önemli bir eşik atladığını ve farkındalığının tüm zamanlarınkinden daha çok arttığını düşünüyorum. Dilerim bu farkındalık duygusu 2014 yılında da herkeste katlanarak artar. Mutlu bir 2014 geçirmeniz dileğiyle.

Yeşim KINAY DOĞAN / Editor And now we are about to celebrate a new year, chasing new hopes In the year I was born, 1975, people were imagining that 2014 will be the space age and that the world will be occupied by the robots. Infact, no robots are created to substitute the human power and the science did not take huge steps in terms of inventions. The world is not covered with a glass dome to protect us from the harmful sun light and no flying cars are invented. From which we can understand, that we still could not make headway. Actually, as I read all those science fiction stories, I thank to God that we do not make headway. Nevertheless in certain points, I personally believe, that by now we should have taken certain steps already. For example hunger in the world, war, environmental disasters, poor human beings which are left all alone out there, etc... All these are signs of human beings who still are able to get rid of primitiveness. However, during 2013, as I experienced all the happenings in my country and in the whole world, I believe that human beings have developed themselves at a considerable extend and that their awareness has increased more than ever. I just hope that this awareness would continue to rise incrementally in 2014 Have a happy 2014

6 RÖPORTAJ / INTERVIEW Niedermeyer Ailesi Family Niedermair Bu sayıdaki röportaj konuklarımız, bu yıl tesisimizi onuncu kez ziyaret ede Alman Niedermeyer ailesi. Dear family Niedermair, we are very happy to have an interview with you. Bize biraz kendinizden söz eder misiniz? Biz Almanya da Baden Württenberg yakınlarındaki Tamm kasabasında yaşıyoruz. Geçen yıl burada 50. evlilk yıldönümümüzü kutladık. Oğlum, gelinim ve iki torunumla birlikte. Tesisimizi kaç kez ziyaret ettiniz? Evet haklısınız, bu bizim Maritim Pine Beach e 10. gelişimiz. Biz tatillerimizi genellikle burada geçiriyoruz. Daha önce iki kez bütün aileyle geldik. Ve son yedi defadır da torunlarımızla geldik. Fakat bu kez Kasım ayında gelmeyi tercih ettik çünkü eşim bay Niedermeyer in doğum günü. Çocukların Kasım ayında okulları olduğu için de bu sefer yalnız gelmeye karar verdik. Tatil planımızı yaparken bir Cappadoia turu seçtik. Sonra farkettikki bu tura 1 hafta Maritim Pine Beach de konaklama da dahilmiş. Bunu görünce çok mutlu olduk. Yeniden Pine beach de olma ihtimali bizi çok sevindirdi. Tatilleriniz için neden Pine Beach i tercih ediyorsunuz? Burada kendimizi evimizde gibi hissediyoruz. Çalışanlar çok kibar ve cana yakın. İçinde çam ve portakal ağaçlarının olduğu bahçenize bayılıyoruz. Özellikle otelin club tarafındaki bahçe içinde Could you please tell us about yourself? We live in Germany in town called Tamm in Baden- Württenberg. Last year we celebrated here our 50th Marriage Anniversary. We have our son, daughter-in-law and 2 grandchildren. We know that this is not your first visit to Maritrim Pine Beach. Yes, you are right. This is our 10th holiday in Maritim Pine Beach. We always choose this hotel for vacation. Twice we were here with the whole family and 7 times we brought our grandchildren with us. This time we decided to come in November for Mr. Niedermair s birthday. As in November children have their school, we decided to go for a round trip. While choosing the trip program we found one Cappadocia tour which included 1 week holiday in Maritim. And we were very happy that we will have opportunity to go to Maritim again. Why do you prefer Maritim for your holiday? We feel here like at home. The staff is very nice and friendly. We adore hotel s gardens with pine and orrange trees. In club part of the hotel, staying in bungalows you feel yourself in harmony with the nature. Most of our holidays here we stayed in bungalow, as we love the nature so much. PINE BEACH MAGAZINE / Ocak - Mart January - March / 2014

7 yer alan bungalovlarda kalmak insana doğayla uyum içinde olduğunu hissettiriyor. Buradaki tatillerimizin çoğunda biz bungalovlarda konaklamayı tercih ettik, çünkü doğayı seviyoruz. Tesisimizde en sevdiğiniz yerler nereler? En çok plajda zaman geçirmeyi seviyoruz. Özellikle pavillionlar ve özel servisi harika. Bunun dışında Nautilus barda oturmayı seviyoruz. Çünkü burası rahat bir ortam ve çok güzel bir atmosfere sahip. Torunlarımız ise tüm zamanlarını Aquapark!da geçirdiler. Orada gerçekten eğleniyorlar. Tesisimizde yapılan renovasyonlardan hoşlandınız mı? Buraya geldiğimiz her seferinde tesisiniz gittikçe güzelleşiyor. Bu yılda gözümüze en hoş gelen noktalardan biri yeni Pavillion hizmetiniz oldu. Tüm barlar ve restoranlar daha konforlu hale gelmişler. Sizi tekrar ne zaman aramızda görebiliriz.? Seneye ailemizle yeniden gelmeyi umuyoruz. Bu tesis hem güzelliği hem de misafirperverliğiyle bizi gerçekten cezp ediyor. Bu gelişimizde, Cappadocia ya giderken yolda 2 ayrı otelde daha konakladık. En sonunda Pine Beach e geldiğimizde farkı iyice anladık. Burada kendimizi oyalayacak öok şey var ve diyebiliriz ki, burası tatil için en iyi otellerden biri. "Buraya geldiğimiz her seferinde tesisiniz gittikçe güzelleşiyor. Bu yılda gözümüze en hoş gelen noktalardan biri yeni Pavillion hizmetiniz oldu." What are your favourite places in Maritim? We like to spend time on the beach. The pavillions with their special service are great! We like sitting in Nautilus bar, cause it s cosy and has a nice atmosphere. As for our grandchildren, they spend almost all the time in Aquapark. They really enjoy it so much! "Every time when we come here the hotel becomes even more beautiful. This year we liked the new pavillions." Did you like the renovations, made in Maritim? Evry time when we come here the hotel becomes even more beautiful. This year we liked the new pavillions. All the bars and Pinea restaurant became more comfortable, cosy and well-equipped. When can we greet you in our hotel again? 4We hope to come with our family next year. The hotel really attracts us with beauty and hospitality. This time on the way from Cappadocia to Maritim we stayed some nights in 2 other hotels. When we came at last to Maritim we felt the real difference! We enjoy ourselves and we can say that this is one of the best places for beautiful holiday

10 Dünyada bulunan tüm yaşam şekillerinin çeşitliliğine biyoçeşitlilik denir. Bu, en küçük ve basit bakteriden, en büyük ve karmaşık bitki ve hayvan çeşidine kadar canlıların tamamını kapsar. Her canlı ekosistemin önemli bir parçasıdır. Türkiye; dünyada en zengin biyolojik çeşitliliğe sahip ülkelerin başında gelmektedir. Orman ve maki alanlarıyla, kıyı habitatlarıyla, bazı kuş, sürüngen ve balık türleriyle zengin bir tür çeşitliliğine sahiptir. Bunlardan kuzey, doğu ve orta Anadolu daki Selvi ve Sedir ormanları, Akdeniz Bölgesindeki Fıstık çamı ormanları, Caretta caretta (deniz kaplumbağası), Monachus monachus (Akdeniz foku) hayvanları ile kelaynak gibi birçok kuş türü ülkemizde endemik türlerdir. Bazı kekik türleri, kıyı sahilinde bulunan Pancratium maritimum (kum zambağı) türleri de yine en önemli endemik türlerdir. Bu kadar biyolojik çeşitliliğe sahip bir ülkede, türlerin korunması ve yok olmaması konusunda ciddi bir sorumluluk yüklenmeliyiz. Bazı endemik türler yok olmuş veya yok olmak üzeredir. Bu; doğal zenginliğimizi, ekosistem dengesini, insan sağlığını, çevreyi (hava, su, toprak) ve yaşanılabilir dünyamızı tehdit etmektedir. Diversity of all way of living taking place in the world is called as bio-diversity. This covers entire living beings from the smallest and simple bacteria to the biggest and most complex plant and animal varieties. Every living being is an important part of ecosystem. Turkey is one of the leading countries in the world by having the richest biological diversity. With its forest and maquis areas, seashore habitats and with some bird, reptile and fish species, it has rich variety of species. Among these, Cypress and Cedar forests taking place in north, east and central Anatolia, Nut Pine forests in the Mediterranian Region, Caretta caretta (sea turtle), Monachus monachus (Mediterranian monk seal) with many bird species such as Hermit Ibis are the endemic species taking place in our country. Some thyme types and Pancratium maritimum (Sea Daffodil) taking place at the seashore species are again the most important endemic species. In a country having this much of biological diversity, we must assume s serious responsibility in the topics of protection of species and not having them disappear. Some of endemic species have disappeared or they are about to disappear. This situation threatens our natural wealths, ecosystem balance, human health, environment (air, water, soil) and our livable world. 11 Doğal zenginliğimiz coğrafi konum olarak bir şans olabilir ama onu korumayı asla şansa bırakmamalıyız. Ülkemizde bu konuyla ilgili önemli faaliyetlerde bulunan kuruluşların çalışmaları yanında bireysel olarak da üzerimize düşeni yapmalıyız. Biz, Belek bölgesinde bulunan Maritim Pine Beach Otel çalışanları olarak bu konuda son derece hassas ve duyarlı bir topluluk olduğumuzu belirtmek isteriz. Tessimizde, bulunduğumuz bölgeye ait birçok tür çeşitliliği yer almaktadır. Bunların en önemlilerinin başında fıstık çamları, kum zambağı bitkileri, sincaplar, Caretta carettalar gelmektedir. Fıstık çamlarını mümkün olduğunca koruma altına almaktayız. Akdeniz Kabuk Böceği zararlısına karşı uzaklaştırıcı tuzaklar kurup, bu böceğin olduğu kuru dalları keserek yaygınlaşmasını önlemeye çalışıyoruz. Sincaplar için toprağa gömdükleri yiyecekleri zehirleyecek tarım ilaçlarını minumum düzeyde kullanıyoruz. Bunun için çim alan olarak yeşil kurt ve prodenya gibi zararlılardan etkilenmeyen, buna bağlı olarak ilaç kullanımını en aza düşüren çim türlerini kullanarak yaygınlaştırmaya çalışıyoruz. Caretta carettaların yumurtlama döneminde sahili onların konumuna göre kullanarak kontrol altına alıyor ve bölgede yumurta olduğunda ilgili birimlerimizle birlikte korumaya alıyoruz. Yeşil alan düzenlemesinde kum zambaklarına dokunmuyor ya da soğanlarını uygun bölgelere taşıyarak orada büyümelerini sağlıyoruz. Biyolojik çeşitliliği azaltacak ya da yok edecek, buna bağlı olarak çevreye zarar verecek nedenlere karşı önlem almak, korumak ve sürdürülebilir şekilde kullanmak bireysel olarak hepimizin sorumluluğudur. Our natural wealth can be the luck in terms of geographical location, however, we should never leave its protection up to chance. Together with the works done related with this topic by important institutions taking place in our country, we must also do our own parts individually. We, as the employees of Maritim Pine Beach Hotel taking place in Belek region, would like to indicate that we are an extremely sensitive and delicate group of people for this subject. In our facility, there are many species belonging to the region where we are. Nut Pines, Sea Daffodil plants, squirrels and Caretta carettas are the leading ones among the most important types. We provide protection for Nut Pines as much as possible. By setting repellant traps against harmful Mediterranian bark beetle and by cutting the branches containing this bug, we are trying to prevent proliferation of it. For the squirrels, we are using pesticides with the minimum level so that the foods they burry in the ground will not be poisoned. For this, by using the grass types which are not affected from the harms of the insects such as green worm and spodoptera littoralis as the grass area and in connection with this, minimizing the amount of the pesticides, we are trying to accomplish proliferation. We are having the control by using the seashore according to Caretta carettas during their spawning period and when spawning takes place, we are protecting the region together with our related units. In the arrangement of the green area, we do not touch sea daffodils or by carrying their onions to suitable sections and thus we provide them the possibility to grow. Taking measures against the causes which shall reduce or shatter biological diversity and correspondingly protecting and using in a sustainable way are individually the responsibilities of all of us

14 İnsanoğlu ilk olarak milattan önce keşfetti tütünü... İbadet amacıyla yaktıkları tütün yapraklarının verdiği keyfi fark eden insanlar, o günden beri onu hayatlarında vazgeçilmez kıldı. Tütün, tarih boyunca çeşitli medeniyetler tarafından şekillendirildi. Pipo oldu, puro oldu, sigara oldu, ağızlarda çiğnendi. Ancak hiçbir şekil, tütün ile nargile kadar bütünleşmedi. Hindistancevizi'nin dışındaki tütün benzeri tabakayı yakan ve cevizin içine soktukları kamışla keyif yapan Hintliler, asırlar sürecek olan nargile geleneğini de başlatmış oldular. Nargile, aradan geçen yüzyıllar sonunda bir kültür haline dönüştü. Dede torununa miras bırakacak kadar değer verdi nargilesine... Kimi zaman sultanların başucunda yerini aldı, kimi zaman ise hak ettiği ilgiden mahrum bırakıldı. Nargile ve nargile çevresinde oluşan göz kamaştırıcı kültür, bugün yine o ihtişamlı günlerine yeniden dönmenin hazırlığını yapıyor. Tütüne sihir katan kültür, gün geçtikçe daha fazla ilgi, sevgi görmeye devam ediyor. Humankind primarily discovered tobacco before common era... Human beings became aware of the pleasure given by the leaves of tobacco they burned with the purpose of worship and they have rendered it indispensable in their lives ever since that day. Throughout the history, tobacco has been shaped by various civilizations. It became pipe, cigar, cigarette and it was also chewed in the mouths. However, none of these forms never became integrated like the way tobacco and narghile did. Burning tobacco-like layer taking place on the outside of Coconut and having pleasure with the cane entered in the coconut, Indians have caused starting of Narghile Tradition this way which lasted for centuries long. Narghile then turned into a culture in the end of the centuries passed in between. Grandfather paid so much importance to his Narghile in a way to leave it as a legacy to his grandson... Sometimes, it also took its place on the bedside of the Sultans and sometimes it became neglected for the concern it deserved. Narghile and eyepopping culture coming into existence in the surrounding of Narghile is making the preparations to return to its own magnificent days once again now. 15 Doğu kültürünün önemli bir parçası olan nargilenin ismi Farsça'da 'Hindistancevizi' anlamına gelen "nargil" kelimesinden geliyor. Araplarca "şişa", İranlilarca ise "kalyan" olarak adlandırılan nargilenin ilk örnekleri Hindistan'da ortaya çıktı. Hindistancevizinin içi boşaltıldıktan sonra kabuğuna bir kamış sokularak yapılan ilk nargile, hintkeneviri tüketimine yeni bir boyut katarken, hindistancevizi ise zamanla yerini kabağa bıraktı. Gün geçtikçe yaygınlaşmasının ardından da porselen ve bronz gövdeli nargileler ortaya çıktı ve bunları çini, gümüş ve cam gövdeli nargileler izledi. Önce İranlilar, sonra Araplar arasında yaygınlaştı. Araştırmacıların 'sohbet medeniyeti' diye tanımladığı Osmanlı ise tütünü tanıdığı 16. y.y dan bu yana nargileyi içine çekip, dumanını göğe savuruyor. Muhabbet erbablarının vazgeçilmez dostu nargile, bu misyonunu günümüzde de hiçbir şey yitirmeden sürdürüyor. Çünkü tiryakilere göre tek başına nargile içmenin hiçbir anlamı yok! Bu nedenle nargile kahveleri hâlâ en koyu sohbetlerin başlıca mekanı olma özelliğini koruyor. Being an important part of the eastern culture, name of Narghile comes from the word of Nargil in Farsi which means Coconut. By being named by the Arabs as "Shisha" and as Kalyan by the Iranians, first samples of Narghile showed themselves in India. First Narghile was done by entering a cane to the crust after emptying inside of coconut and this has added a new dimension to Indian Hemp consumption and in the course of time, coconut has left its place to pumpkin. As days pass, Narghiles with porcelain and bronze bodies have come into existence following its spreading and these were followed by Narghiles having bodies with china, silver and glass. It became widespread first among Iranians and then Arabs. As for the culture of the Ottoman which is defined as the Civilization of Chatting by the researchers, Narghile has been inhaled and its smoke has been blown about to the sky since 16th century when they got to know tobacco. Narghile is indispensable companion of chitchat experts and it maintains this mission at the present time without losing anything. Because, according to addicted persons, smoking Narghile alone does not have any meaning! For this reason, Narghile coffeehouses still maintain the characteristic of being the main sites of the deepest conversations

16 Nargileyi tanıyalım Marpuç: Nargilenin gövdesinden dumanın çekildiği uca kadar, hortum dahil bölümün tümü. Marpuçun hortumu, koyun derisinden yapılıyor. Sipsi: Marpucun ucuna takılıyor ve içmek isteyen herkese bir tane veriliyor. Maliyet nedeniyle genelde plastikten. Mermer, kehribar ya da gümüş olanları da mevcut. Lüle: Tütünün konulduğu ve üzerine közün yerleştirildiği seramik kap. Tepsi ve rüzgarlık: Tepsi, yere kül düşmesini engeller, rüzgarlık ta közün sönmesini. Şişe: Su konulan cam bölüm. Ser: Dar ve uzun olan boyun kısmı. Tömbeki: Aromalı tütünler çıkmadan önce kullanılan tek nargile tütünü. Hatay'da yetiştiriliyor ve aromalılardan daha sert. Güçlü bir ciğer gerekiyor. Mangır: Nargile kömürü uzun süre dayanmalı. Bu nedenle yanmış ve alevi kalmamış meşe kömürü kullanılıyor. Amatörce nargile yakmak isteyenler, kolayca tutuşan mangır kömürü kullanıyor. Nargile içmenin raconu Nargile içmenin de bir adabı var. Marpucu alt kısmından tutacaksınız ve ağır ağır dumanı çekeceksiniz. Duman suda süzülürken çıkan ses ayrı bir tat eriyor bu keyfe. Dumanı sigara gibi içinize çok çekmeyeceksiniz. Havayı nefes alır gibi çekmelisiniz ki şişedeki su fokurdasın ve tütün yansın. Nargile şişesinin içindeki sıvı bildiğimiz su. Suyun üzerinde bir hava boşluğu var ve siz marpuçtan nefes çektiğinizde gelen hava, bu boşluktan geliyor. Sonra hava çıkacak başka bir yeri olmadığı için sudan vakum yapıyor ve oluşan vakum üstteki lülenin tütününü yakıyor. Gelen duman suyun içinde süzülerek ve soğuyarak size ulaşıyor (sigaradan en büyük farkı da dumanın soğuk olması ). Yani su tütündeki zararlı maddeleri süzüyor ve soğutuyor. Tütünü de özel Tömbeki, nargileye özgü özel bir tütün. Bu sigara, puro, enfiye gibi diğer tütünlerden daha kısa boylu, daha geniş, daha tıknaz bir bitki. Yaprakları daha esmer, daha küçük, daha etli ve tütünden daha dayanıklı. Virginia ve Burley tütünlerinde yüzde 3-4, Türk tütünlerinde yüzde 1-2 olan nikotin oranı, tömbekide yüzde 10'a kadar çıkabiliyor. Tömbeki Türkiye'de Hatay - Samandağ ve Konya - Hadim bölgelerinde üretiliyor. Tütün gibi toplanıyor, ama farklı işlemlerden geçiyor. Tömbeki lüleye yerleştirildikten sonra üzerine odun kömürü ateşi konur. Nargilenin en büyük keyfi muhabbeti, çünkü tek başına içilen nargile tiryakilere göre bir şey ifade etmiyor.
