INVITED LECTURERS DAVETLİ KONUŞMACILAR INVITED LECTURERS DAVETLİ KONUŞMACILAR Can AKSAKAL Csaba BALÁZSI Can Aksakal is a battery researcher with more than ten years of experience. He obtained his bachelor s degree from Chemical Engineering department of Izmir Institute of Technology and completed his master's degree in Energy Engineering at the same institute. Between 2006-2008, he worked as a researcher in Ion Power Co, in the United States to work in the fuel cell industry. He had an experience in the field of recovering precious metals from membrane electrode assemblies. In 2009, he starts working in INCI GS YUASA as a research engineer. In 2013 he became the New Battery Technologies Executive and till 2016 he is managing the New Battery Technologies unit. In his current position, he is responsible for implementing both lead acid batteries and GS-YUASA Li-Ion cells for industrial, automotive and telecom applications in accordance with customer needs and responsible for their after-sales services. He has a Ph.D. degree from İstanbul Technical University in the field of battery diagnosis based on impedance spectroscopy techniques. Impedance Analysis on enhanced flooded batteries for micro hybrid applications Transmission line element effects to replicate carbon added electrode surfaces with EEC SOC and SOH traceability based on EIS measurements Dr. Csaba Balázsi is a Scientific Advisor in Centre for Energy Research of Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He is metallurgical engineer with 20+ years of practice in various physical and chemical technologies of nanocomposite manufacturing, including ceramic processing, nano-milling, hydrothermal, powder metallurgy, sintering, electrospinning. His research area is covering R&D of high performance materials for medical, sensor and high temperature applications. He was involved in the development of nanoporous hexagonal tungsten oxide materials for gas sensorics, carbon nanotube/graphene nano-platelet added silicon nitride ceramic composites for tribological applications and several other nanocomposites, including nanoceramic dispersion strengthened steels for nuclear/ht applications and biogenic calcium-phosphate based biocompatible composites for orthopedics. He is coauthor in 170 publications, 9 patents and is principal investigator in several national (OTKA, NKFIH, TéT, Eötvös, Bolyai) and international (FP7, NATO, NSF, ESA, H2020, EIT KIC RAW, Flag-ERA) research grants. He is President of Fine Ceramics section of the Hungarian Scientific Society of Silicate Industry (SZTE), Fellow of the European Ceramic Society, Member of Council Board and Permanent Executive Committee (ECERS), Board Member of the Hungarian Society of Materials Science, Member of the American Ceramic Society (ACERS) and Executive Committee Member of Federation of European Materials Societies (FEMS). 12 IMMC 2018 19 th International Metallurgy & Materials Congress 19. RAU Dr. Paola Bassani is working at National Research Council - CNR - Institute of Condensed Matter Chemistry and Technologies for Energy in Lecco-Italy. She was graduated in Materials Engineering at Politecnico di Milano and was awarded a Metallurgical Engineering Ph.D. from Politecnico di Torino. Her main research field is innovative metallic materials, among which shape memory alloys (NiTi based and Copper based shape memory alloys), from production to characterization. The interest for NiTi drove her research also to innovative production routes, among which porous and bulk metallic materials production through Self-propagating High temperature Synthesis (SHS). Besides production and transformation, she also deepened microstructural characterization of metallic materials (optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry, termogravimetric testing, mechanical testing). More recently she was involved in advanced microstructural characterization, through different electron microscopy techniques (FE-SEM, EBSD, EDS, TEM). She is co-author of more than 50 papers. Julietta V. Rau(Dr, PhD) is currently researcher, head of the laboratory and research group at the Institute of the Structure of Matter of the Italian National Research Council (ISM-CNR, Rome, Italy). She is the author of more than 130 publications in International Journals and about 145 presentations and Invited talks at International Conferences. She received several international awards for her research achievements. Her present H-index is 20 (Google Scholar). She is the CHAIR and organizer of the biennial BioMaH Biomaterials for Healthcare International Conference(https://biomah.ism.cnr.it) and the Member of the International Scientific Committees of various International Conferences in the field of Materials Science, Nanoscience, Biomaterials and Medical devices. She is the Member of the Editorial Boards ofbioactive Materials journal, EC Orthopaedics,and Journal of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine and Bioactive Materials (Fronties). She is the Reviewer at several international journals and Lead Guest Editor of the Special Issue«Bioactive ceramic and glass systems for bone tissue engineering» inbiomed Research International journal and of the Special Issue "Exploring challenges ahead of nanotechnology for biomedicine" in Bioactive Materials journal. Her present research interests regard innovative biomaterials for regenerative medicine, among them calcium phosphates and glass-ceramics based materials for tissue engineering applications. Her recent publications are dedicated to bioactive nanostructured coatings of innovative composition for orthopaedic and dental implant applications and cements for bones, cranial-facial surgery and dentistry applications. She is also involved(project Leader of the Raman DXR Seed Unit Program (Europe) of Thermo Fisher Scientific Company (2016)) and interested in research projects dedicated toraman spectroscopy applications in biomedicine and novel imaging approaches for cancer diagnostics. 14 IMMC 2018 19 th International Metallurgy & Materials Congress 19. INVITED LECTURERS DAVETLİ KONUŞMACILAR INVITED LECTURERS DAVETLİ KONUŞMACILAR Simion SIMON Cong WANG Simion Simon is professor at the Faculty of Physics of the Babes-Bolyai University, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. His research interest as young scientist was oriented to simultaneous employment of Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), for characterizing the local order changes in oxide material structures, in order to investigate the local order changes that occur once the transition from a vitreous state to a glass ceramic state takes place. During his long academic experinece he largely developed international cooperations, extended the research area and techniques, and succeded to bring together scientists of Babes-Bolyai University from different fields in framework of the Interdisciplinary Research Institute on Bio-Nano-Sciences. Currently, professor Simon is the head of this institute and the head of the National Centre of Magnetic Resonance of the Babes-Bolyai University. He is member of several scientific societies: Materials Research Society (USA), International ESR Society, European Physical Society, AMPERE Society, American Ceramic Society, and Fellow of the Institute of Physics (London).
