4 Weaving Looms GARM 55 Punch-Card Dobby Loom To Educational and Training Schools in Textile In order to teach the structural characteristics, desing and production phases of woven fabrics in the most practical way, we have invented and introduced our first product the punch-card dobby loom which is named as GARM 55. To Fabric and Yarn Producers in Textile We have invented the GARM 55 to reduce the time and yarn consumptions to a minimum level in your works. Weaving Looms 5 GARM-B 55 Computer Aided Weaving Loom The shafts (frames) of GARM-B 55 has been suitably designed for the types of most commonly used healds, 330 mm in length, named with letters O, C and J. Motion control of heald frames is supplied by a software developed for weaving structural design and planning. This software has been specially developed by us and the Textile Engineering Department of Cukurova University of Turkey as our partner within the Project Works which was sponsored by the Turkish Goverment of this our new loom. A touch screen computer is available with the loom. Heald shaft motion is a computer/software controlled through a pneumatic system which is working with a silent compressor of the loom. Maximum working width in weaving is 55 cm. Use Advantages / User Benefits Motion control of heald frames is supplied by the pneumatic cylinders via an electronic pedal which makes it easier for the user. Any woven fabric structural desing whether designed directly using the loom s own software or worked out from a software set up on any computer can be transferred to memory of the loom. Use Advantege / User Benefits Can be transported via folding, without damaging its warp yarns. It has capability to perform all majör woven structures with its 8 heald frames. 8 About Us Our company was founded in 1961 by Mustafa GÜLAS. In the early years of our organization, we noticed that there were something missing in textile industry. That was to present a sample woven fabric. This procedure even today is difficult and costly. On the other hand, before manufacturing a woven fabric in the indusrial conditions, it is the most important subject for customer s appreciation. But, larger and industrial weaving machines were in use to weave sample fabrics. As the results of using a large industrial weaving machine, yarn and/or time consumption is quite high. At least one loom will be out of running from industrially weaving production phases. On the other hand, designer and user would not easily compansate the design deficiences. For this reason, we have made the production of the puch-card dobby loom, the invention and patent belong to our company. We have taken some factors into account in designing the loom. It will have 24 heald frames and it will not be larger than that of a house door width. Our puch-card dobby loom has been the sine qua of firstly fabric weaving sector, textile education and yarn production industry. We have never compromised the material and quality in manufacturing the loom, including jewelry and leather weaving. Hence, Gülas Makina brand has been brought up to a respectable position to this day. R & D is always important to us. An average operational life of our loom takes 25-30 years. When compared with the loom s makers, the users (weavers, teachers and students) may notice the problems in weaving applications more carefully, and therefore, your opinions are always invaluable for us.
