January February March 2013 IYLA Trainings and Activities In the months of January February March 2013, various local trainings on 5 different subjects were conducted. In total, our trainers conducted 58 trainings to 1013 trainees. These trainings were given in 27 cities on the subjects of Active Volunteerism, Discrimination, Child Rights, Climate Teams and Negotiation and Mediation. The UGLA Coordination Meeting was held between the dates 28 February and 3 March 2013, at the Istanbul. IYLA s 92 volunteer trainers/facilitators from 40 cities attended the meeting. The meeting aimed at updating training subjects and improving training content, while also enabling all UGLA trainers to gather in Istanbul. Active Volunteer-ism During the months January February March, 19 Active Volunteerism Trainings were conducted. These trainings were given to a total of 317 trainees in the following 12 cities: Adıyaman, Ankara, Antalya, Batman, Çankırı, Denizli, Gaziantep, Izmir, Kütahya, Muş, Rize and Şanlıurfa. We would like to thank all our Active Volunteer-ism trainers who acted as facilitators and the following institutions for hosting the trainings: Izmir City and Youth, Karabağlar Municipality, TEGV, Çankırı Personal Growth and Consulting Center, Muş State Hospital, Çankırı Municipality Education and Career Center, and the Sevgi Erdoğan Trainer s Park. 1

Discrimination During the months January February March, 5 Discrimination Trainings were conducted. These trainings were given to a total of 80 trainees in the following 4 cities: Ankara, Denizli, Istanbul and Sivas. We would like to thank all our Discrimination training trainers who acted as facilitators and the following institutions for hosting the trainings: Sivas Cem Vakfı, AEGEE and the Denizli Youth Council. 3
Child Rights During the months January February March, 11 Child Rihgts Trainings were conducted. These trainings were given to a total of 128 trainees in the following 5 cities: Istanbul, Kahramanmaraş, Sakarya, Samsun and Van. We would like to thank all our Child Rights trainers who acted as facilitators and the following institutions for hosting the trainings: Sakarya Tes-Iş Adapazarı Anatolian High School, Kahramanmaraş Baydemirli Boybeyli School, the Van City Council and Youth Council, TEGV and Çınardibi Culture Center. 4
Climate Teams During the months January February March, 14 Climate Team Trainings were conducted. These trainings were given to a total of 306 trainees in the following 10 cities: Adana, Antalya, Bitlis, Bursa, Edirne, Eskişehir, Izmir, Kocaeli, Ordu and Sivas. We would like to thank all our Climate Teams trainers who acted as facilitators and the following institutions for hosting the trainings: Atatürkçü Düşünce Derneği, THK Genç Kanatlar, Aktif Felsefe, Konak Municipality Youth Entrepreneurship and Creativity Academy, Adana Ulubatlı School, Kocaeli International Youth Council, Eskişehir Kızılay Academy, Cumhuriyet University, Merinos Culture Center, Bursanat Gençlik Derneği, Uludağ Genç TEMA and the Nilüfer Youth Council. 5

Negotiation and Mediaton During the months January February March, 9 Negotiation and Mediation Trainings were conducted. These trainings were given to a total of 130 trainees in the following 6 cities: Alanya, Istanbul, Izmir, Sivas, Tavas and Van. We would like to thank all our Negotiation and Mediation trainers who acted as facilitators and the following institutions for hosting the trainings: Alanya Bilişim Academy, Tavas Anadolu Öğretmenler Lisesi, Bekir Güngör Sağlık Vocational High School, Izmir Youth Council, Cumhuriyet University and TEGV. 7
IYLA Coordination Meeting! The UGLA Coordination Meeting was held between the dates 28 February and 3 March 2013, at the. 92 volunteer trainers/facilitators from 40 cities attended the meeting. The meeting aimed at updating training subjects and improving training content, while also enabling all UGLA trainers to gather in Istanbul. Opening speeches were made by UNICEF Turkey Representative Dr. Ayman Abulaban, Save the Children Program Manager Stan Klinkenberg and Habitat a Honorary President Sezai Hazır. In the opening, the last numbers of the training and trainees reached also shared with the participants. Between February 2011 (when the first TOT was held and when the local trainings started) till January 2013. 8

Each subject had its own workshop that was desgined to refresh the trainers/facilitators. Later, they also did work plans in order for planning next trainings. Each workshop also focused on the evaluation issue of the local trainings. It is general suggestion that online-evaluation method should be developed. The second day continued with the implementation of local trainings for IYLA trainers/facilitator.through this, they had a chance to experience aother trainings other than personal training topic.
