As the name implies, the Twin-Press technology includes two pressing units. The first pressing unit processes the initial shaping. After the plate is shaped by the first pressing unit, it moves on the band, to be processed by either three or four printing units, as required by the end-product design. These later printing units are the drums that create the print effects according to the design of the tile. After the design printing process, the tile moves further on the band for main shaping in the second heavy-weight pressing unit. This is the main pressing unit that gives the tile its structure. Then the tile moves further to the cutting unit, for sizing and shaping before the firing in the kiln. Here, the tile can be shaped in the appropriate size without remolding. Such an enriching color palette also enables the colors of your tiles to speak a global color language. The colors used in Rainbow Plus System Series have RAL equivalents. RAL is a global system used for selecting, determining, controlling and describing the colors in textile, architecture and decoration fields and enables the designer to form a combination of expressions with colors of different materials. In this system, the same colors can be used in different dimensions or impressive combinations can be created with different colors. Each color is represented with 3 numeric groups in the system. Group H indicates group of the color or the tone, group L indicates lightness-darkness of the color and group C defines the intensity of the color. 1. Group: H / Hue 2. Group: L / Lightness 3. Group: C / Chroma Example: H L C The H value corresponds to the number of the page in the RAL Design System (RAL-DS) atlas containing all the nuances of this particular hue. The atlas includes a total of 1688 colors. The RAL color circle begins with red (at the 3 o'clock position) and it is read in a counterclockwise direction. Defining tile colors according to this system means that colors belonging to the same color family (H) can be combined. Similarly, it is possible to combine colors that have different H values but belong to the same lightness group (L) and colors that belong to different H groups but have a suitable chroma value (C).

Kalekim Technomax 30 should be applied on both the front surface of the building and the back side of the porcelain tiles with a tooth-edged trowel sparing approximately 4 mm grouts, and then porcelain tiles should be fixed on the surface. During this process the temperature must be between +5 C C. After Kalekim Technomax 30 solidifies ( approximately after 24 hours ), Kalekim Fugaflex ( 1-6 mm ) should be applied for grouting in dry weather. Kalekim Technomax 30 should be applied on both the front surface of the building and the back side of the klinker tiles with a tooth-edged trowel sparing approximately 4 mm grouts, and then klinker tiles should be fixed on the surface. During this process the temperature must be between +5 o C o C. After Kalekim Technomax 30 solidifies ( approximately after 24 hours ), Kalekim Fugaflex ( 1-6 mm ) should be applied for grouting in dry weather. Another important matter is that the fresh plaster mortar has to be allowed to set for 3 to 4 weeks, and meanwhile it has to be cured (watering, protecting, etc.) according to the climate conditions. Lime must not be added to the plaster mortar. Mortar additives (such as Kalekim Latex) may be added to the mortar, in order to increase its workability and strength. Before the plaster is applied, there may be adherence hampering wastes such as oil remained from the formworks, concrete pieces, nails and wires, on the concrete construction. Those have to be removed before applying the plaster. When the surface preparation is over, first, a work program has to be prepared before application, determining the covering plan, Kalesinterflex dimensions, colors, starting and ending points, protrusions, details of doors and windows, details of subbasement and parapets. Kalesinterflex Application The dust on the surface must be cleaned with a brush. Wire brushes may be used in some cases. In order to decrease the absorbency of the mounting surface and increase the bonding strength, is applied on the area that can be worked in one day. To mix the adhesive that has been selected according to the Kalesinterflex slab to be used for coating, a mixer with low rotation speed should be used. The adhesive is paved by pressing on the surface to be covered, using a plain hand trowel or the straight part of the toothed trowel, 1 mm thicker than the trowel's notch size. The area to be paved with the adhesive must be so large that it can be completed within the period specified as "application period" or "notching period" on the package of the adhesive used. This period should be decreased in warm and windy weather. The adhesive paved using a trowel must be notched at once with a notched trowel until the surface is leveled. At this point the holding angle of the notched trowel is important as well as the even distribution of the force applied. While notching the adhesive, which has been paved on the back side of the Kalesinterflex slabs, first the edge parts have to be notched towards inside and later on the middle parts has to be notched thoroughly, until the surface is entirely leveled. In practice, the pavement should be applied with combined (double pavement) method, no matter what the dimensions of the Kalesinterflex slabs are. In other words, the adhesive must be both paved on the pavement surface and troweled and paved on the entire back sides of the Kalesinterflex slabs and troweled with the same notched trowel. This work must be performed on a flat table. Thus, a more practical, cleaner and accurate joint gap is obtained. The Kalesinterflex slab which has been placed on the mortar bed, is firmly pressed with the palm and the initial compaction is accomplished by moving the slab 2-6 mm upward and downward. Meanwhile, Kalesinterflex slab must be tipped by the palm so that the slab firmly contacts the mortar bed. In order to obtain the firm contact of the Kalesinterflex slab with the mortar bed, after placing the slab first by hand, the compaction (placement) is accomplished by tipping on the Kalesinterflex slab on four corners and the middle part with the trowel, whose bottom is plastic (soft rubber). Before grouting is applied, the remains and dusts of the adhesive that has been removed from the joints must be cleaned with a brush. Then Kalekim SeraCare surface protector should be applied on the entire front surface of Kalesinterflex coating with a high quality sponge or a brush. 4 to 5 hours after the protective coating is applied, the grouting may begin. Kalekim FugaFlex should be preferred as grouting mortar. If the joint gap is between 1 and 6 mm, Kalekim FugaFlex (1-6 mm), if the gap is wider than 6 mm, Kalekim FugaFlex (6-20) must be selected. The grouted joints should be continuously wiped with a wet and clean sponge in minutes under normal conditions. When the grouting surface cures sufficiently so as not to allow deformation, a final cleaning should be done with a dry cloth. The tile adhesive may dry too quickly due to weather temperature and/or wind effect; this is one of the most common issues for facades. In case the adhesive in the container and/or on the notched surface dries, it must never be used. It mustn't be mixed again by adding water. In order not to suffer such conditions, little amounts of mortar must be mixed and/or other measures must be taken according to weather conditions. The grouting mortar has to be mixed with water in the ratio shown on the pack. Too much water must never be added to make the grouting work easier. In addition, while cleaning with wet sponge, the sponge should not contain too much water. Otherwise, cracks may be formed during curing, as the grouting mortar surface will be too wet. Other Important Notes Kalesinterflex slabs must be coated on the facade always in horizontal direction. Before placing a Kalesinterflex slab over another that has been already placed, 2-3 hours must be allowed. If there are no doors, windows, inner or outer corners on the facade surface, or the distance between them is more than 6-7 meters, vertical and horizontal movement (expansion) joints must be left in between, according to the dimensions of Kalesinterflex slabs used. The following point has to be kept in mind while positioning the expansion joints. The areas divided by the expansion joints must be m2 maximum. The long edge has to be 8 m maximum. Whatever the area of the surface is, the ratio of the long edge to the short edge must be equal to or less than 2. Considering those matters, the locations of the expansion (movement) joints have to be determined in the planning stage. The expansion joints should be filled with Kalekim KalePolyMas polyurethane sealant. The application instructions of the adhesive, grout, primer and surface protective products have to be followed. The works has to be suspended over 35 C and under 5 C weather temperature or under very windy or rainy weather conditions. Work safety rules must be invariably followed while working on the catwalk.

The sheathing from the outside of the construction in order to increase the resistance against heat conduction and to minimize the heat transfer between the outside and inside of the construction, may provide very high levels of heat savings, provided sheathing is performed with the materials selected correctly, utilizing appropriate craftsmanship. The prerequisite for applying Kalesinterflex on this system is having the sheathing in exact leveling horizontally and in exact plumbing vertically. The best way to accomplish this prerequisite is to make the brown coating, which forms the basis of the sheathing, exactly plumb vertically with correct mixture ratios ( dose cement mortar, cm, without lime. Other important points in applying the sheathing system, which will form the basis of the Kalesinterflex covering, are as follows: The subbasement shape with the measurements suitable for the thickness of the selected heat insulation slab is attached cm lower than the subbasement level with its special anchor, in line and plumb. The insulation slabs should be mounted on the surface, using the adhesive cements that have been particularly produced for this purpose. If there are little (0.5-3 cm) irregularities on the facade surface (horizontal-vertical), strap-mounting method should be used. At this point, due care should be taken to provide at least 40% contact of the adhesive with back of the slab and to prevent the thickness of the adhesive to exceed 3 cm. The thickness of the adhesive behind the slab that has been mounted should be approximately On the facades with no plane errors, the application may be performed with 10x10 mm notched trowel. During this application, care should be taken not to allow hardening and crust forming of the notched adhesive. Corner shapes have to be preferred for the outer corners, in order to form a stronger structure against wind loads. Those shapes have to be applied in zig-zag pattern and so that the cement sticks to all parts of them. The slabs have to be applied in zig-zag pattern and overlapping manner. In addition to bonding, mechanical doweling has to be The slabs shall not be mounted on the walls in direct contact with the bricks. If this is done, when the dowel pin is driven in, it will not have the necessary surfaces to hold onto after expanding and therefore will expand freely and move freely inside the brick. The primary plaster coat is applied right after the doweling operation. In order to obtain a homogenous thickness, the primary coat of the plaster is finished using a notched trowel with a notch size of 3-5 mm thickness. The primary coat of the plaster and the net to be placed on it should be applied by two cratfsmen in order to prevent drying of the plaster mortar. The plaster nets should be applied so that they overlap for 10 cm. The net to be used should be 160 gr/m2 and it has to be resistant to alkali impact posed by the cement. Additional support net has to be placed in the primary coat of the plaster, at the edges of the doors and windows, which are the weak locations of the facade. The second plaster coat has to be applied before the first cures. When making the second coat of plaster, care should be taken to prevent replacement of furnishing net and its insertion into the primary plaster coat. Kalesinterflex Application Under normal weather conditions (20 C), Kalesinterflex application may be started 3 days after the final coat of the plaster is applied on the sheathing system. The adhesive to be paved on the back of Kalesinterflex slab must be evenly paved on the entire surface. Since this work is time consuming, the application period must be arranged very well. The adhesive paved on the wall surface and notched must not be allowed to harden and form a crust. The notch size of the notched trowel to be used for the application should be determined in accordance with the dimensions of the Kalesinterflex slabs and the adherence (bonding, sticking) properties of the surface to be covered. For 50x50 cm and smaller Kalesinterflex slabs a notched trowel with 4x4x4 mm notch size will be sufficient both for the bonding surface and for notching the back surface of the Kalesinterflex slab. For slabs larger than 50x50 cm, notched trowel with 6x6x6 mm notch size should be used for the surface to be covered and one with 4x4x4 mm notch, for notching the back of the Kalesinterflex slabs. If the surface to be covered is undulated, this cannot be eliminated using tile adhesives. Because notched trowel follows the shape of the surface. Therefore, although the notch depth seems the same at all points, there will be parts that will not tack to the surface, even if adhesive is paved on the back of the Kalesinterflex slabs due to undulation. In such conditions, the surface has to be examined beforehand and the necessary repairs have to be completed before the application. Especially it may be delusive at the edges and corners; when continuous force is applied on the Kalesinterflex slab by hand, the flexibility of the Kalesinterflex slab will cause the mortar to contact until the force is released. However, when the force is removed, the flexibility of the Kalesinterflex slabs will cause the part of the slab, which have been bent, to tend to straighten and detach from the adhesive. If the undulation is not so much, the Kalesinterflex slabs will hold the adhesive during straightening and this will not be an issue. However, if there is much undulation on the surface, the adhesive will either detach from the surface (low probability) or from the mounting surface of the Kalesinterflex slab. For single-storey buildings, the vertical angle has to be checked with a gage lath or a water level; for multi-storey buildings this has to be done using plumb lines, strings or other similar leveling tools. If little deviations are observed on the surface, they have to be eliminated using new plaster mortars. The surface is checked using an aluminum gage lath of sufficient length, both horizontally and diagonally. The gage lath has to contact the surface exactly. In order to decrease the absorbency of the pavement and increase the bonding strength, Kalekim is applied on the area that can be worked in one day. The primer should be applied twice on very absorbent surfaces. 45 to 60 minutes after the primer is applied (23 C), the main application is commenced. If the environment is too warm or windy, this period may be decreased. In order to mount the Kalesinterflex slabs in the same direction on horizontal plane, the first row is skipped and a horizontal aluminum lath with sufficient length is attached at the bottom of the second row with exact leveling. When the lath height is calculated, it should be arranged so that a complete Kalesinterflex slab will fit into the first skipped row and to a joint gap between the first and the second row is provided. Tile adhesive that will be used for mounting Kalesinterflex slabs should be prepared by mixing with the liquid components. In order to obtain a homogenous mixture, a mixer with low rotation speed should be used. Tile adhesive is paved with a thickness of approximately 5 mm, on a part of area of the surface that can be completed in 10 minutes, pressing firmly with a straight trowel or the straight edge of the notched trowel (for 4 x 4 x 4 mm notch size). The adhesive paved using a trowel must be notched at once with a notched trowel until the surface is leveled. At this point the holding angle of the harrow is important as well as the even distribution of the force applied. In practice, the pavement should be applied with combined (double pavement) method, no matter what the dimensions of the Kalesinterflex slabs are. In other words, the tile adhesive must be both paved on the pavement surface and harrowed and paved on the entire back sides of the Kalesinterflex slabs and notched with the same notched trowel. The Kalesinterflex slab which has been placed on the mortar bed is firmly pressed with the palm and the initial compaction is accomplished by moving the slab 2-6 mm upward and downward. Meanwhile, Kalesinterflex slab must be tipped by the palm so that the slab firmly contacts the mortar bed. In order to obtain the firm contact of the Kalesinterflex slab with the cement bed, after pacing the slab first by hand, the compaction (placement) is accomplished by tipping on the Kalesinterflex slab on four corners and the middle part with the edger, whose bottom is plastic (soft rubber). Kalesinterflex must be mounted with joint gaps in accordance with the dimensions of the slabs and the heat cycles of the area it is applied in. It must not be mounted without joints (with 0 joints). The joint gaps of the Kalesinterflex coating must be scratched with a suitable wooden wedge until the plaster surface underneath and thus the adhesive must be removed before it completely cures, thus the joint gaps are prepared for grouting. For cement-based adhesives, this procedure must be completed within approximately minutes (though this changes according to the environment conditions). If this is not completed in the specified period and postponed to the next day, the joint scratching work becomes very difficult and too much time is lost, even the covering may be damaged. The best method of cleaning the adhesive in the joints is as follows: Before Kalesinterflex is placed, the notched adhesive at the edges of the other adjacent (at right, left or below) Kalesinterflex slabs is removed with a piece of Kalesinterflex that has been cut according to the width of the joint. Thus, a more practical, cleaner and accurate joint gap is obtained. The joint sticks may be removed at least 24 hours later for 50x150 cm and smaller slabs and 48 hours later for 100x300 cm dimensions. At this point, the joint sticks must be removed with utmost care. The sticks must not be removed harshly by pressing or applying sudden forces. Grouting Before grouting is applied, the remains and dusts of the adhesive that has been removed from the joints must be cleaned with a brush. Then Kalekim SeraCare surface protective coating should be applied on the entire front surface of Kalesinterflex covering with a high quality sponge or a brush. 4 to 5 hours after the protective coating is applied, the grouting may begin. Kalekim FugaFlex should be used as grouting mortar. If the joint gap is between 1 and 6 mm, Kalekim Fugaflex (1-6 mm), if the gap is wider than 6 mm, Kalekim FugaFlex (6-20) must be selected. The grouting mortar has to be adequately filled into the joints, pressing with the trowel. For cleanliness and practicability, the grouting mortar does not need to be spread over the entire Fuga derz dolgu harc torbas üzerinde yazan miktar kadar su ile kar t r l r. Kalekim SeraCare surface protective coating may be applied on the surface with a brush, a sponge or a mini paint roller. It doesn't matter which tool is used in practice, but the surface protective coating must be applied always in the same direction without pressing too much. However, it is ready for use. Water must not be added. When surface protective coating application work is over, applying Kalekim SeraCare surface protective coating as a second layer on the grouting will additionally help water repelling of the grouting and enable them to be more resistant against weather conditions. Other Important Notes Kalesinterflex slabs must be covered on the facade always in horizontal direction. Before placing a Kalesinterflex slab over another that has been already placed, 2-3 hours must be allowed. If there are no doors, windows, inner or outer corners on the facade surface, or the distance between them is more than 6-7 meters, vertical and horizontal movement (expansion) joints must be left in between, according to the dimensions of Kalesinterflex slabs used. The following point has to be kept in mind while positioning the expansion joints. The areas divided by the expansion joints must be m 2 maximum. The long edge has to be 8 m maximum. Whatever the area of the surface is, the ratio of the long edge to the short edge must be equal to or less than 2. Considering those matters, the locations of the expansion (movement) joints have to be determined in the planning stage and when the sheathing system is formed, it must be conducted in the same plane and direction as the dilatation shapes which is a part of the siding. The expansion joints should be filled with Kalekim KalePolyMas polyurethane sealant. The application instructions of the cement, grouting, primer and surface protective products has to be followed. The works has to be suspended over 35 C and under 5 C weather temperature or under very wind or rainy weather conditions. The siding system has to be built in accordance with its rules. Work safety rules must be invariably followed while working on the catwalk.
