Ebru Uygun In Time and Rhythm Sergisiyle Dirimart ta 6 Ocak 7 Şubat 2012 Ebru Uygun un In Time and Rhythm adlı sergisinde yer alacak büyük boyutta resimleri Ocak ayında Dirimart ta izleyici karşısına çıkacak. Tuvali yeniden üretip tekrar tuvale uygulayan Uygun; resim i yeniden tanımlar. Ortaya tuvalden farklılaşmış, heykelimsi, üç boyutlu yepyeni bir form çıkarır. Sanatçının denetimsiz içsel yolculuğunun dışavurumu olarak öne çıkan son çalışmaları 06 Ocak 07 Şubat tarihleri arasında Dirimart ta görülebilecek. Untitled 2011 Tuval üzerine karışık teknik 230 x 230 cm Ebru Uygun çalışmalarıyla geleneksel sanatsal pratiği yapıbozuma uğratır. Sanatçının süreç olarak tekrar tekrar yapıp bozduğu sanat nesnesi, izleyici tarafından farklı okumalara açıktır. Gerek özne gerekse nesne iz bırakarak sürekli dönüşmekte, gelişmektedir. Donuk bir yapı yerine devingen bir yapı söz konusudur. Resme transandantal (aşkın) bir anlam yükleyen sanatçı, resmi sonuç olarak değil süreç olarak yorumlar. Onun yaratım süreci performans, kolaj ve heykeli kapsar. Eserleri üretim şekliyle performansa yakın dururken, eserlerin bitmiş hali kolaj ve heykel arasında gidip gelmektedir. Uygun resmin iki boyutluluğunun ötesine geçerek resmi var olan sınırlarının ötesine taşır. Geleneksel sanat uygulamalarının yarattığı görsel algılamayı tamamen farklılaştırır. İzleyiciyi üç boyutlu optik bir örüntü içine alır. Sergide sanatçının mekana özgü tasarladığı 6 işi sergileniyor. Üretim sürecinin yanısıra çalışmaların mekana özgü tasarımı onları bir çeşit enstelasyon kılıyor. Uygun un bu serisinde monokromlar göze çarpmaktadır. Resminde yaratım süreci, renge karar vermekle başlıyor. Siyah, kırmızı ve lacivert; eserleri domine eden renklerdir. Önceki resimlerinde bu renklerin birbirine kavuşması görselleşirken bu seride tamamen tek rengin hakimiyeti göze çarpıyor. Tuvallerdeki şeritlerin birbirine yumuşakça dokunuşları, geçişleri kimi zaman zikzaklara dönüşüyor. Uygun bunları exajere edip üstlerinde yoğunlaşmayı tercih ediyor. Bu şekilde yer yer tuvalden dışarı çıkar. Malzeme olarak kulllandığı akriliği de dönüştürüyor. Kolay kuruyan bir boya olan akrilik gerek sanatçının gerekse işin doğasına kusursuzca eşlik etmekte. Daha ilk başta sanatçının zihninde izleyeceği güzergah bellidir. Ancak çalışma yapım sürecinde, sürecin yapısı gereği belli sapmalara uğrar. Ebru Uygun un bu son çalışmalarında öncekilerde olduğu gibi mekansızlık ve zamansızlık vurgusu vardır. Nesne ve öznenin etkileşimi zamansız ve mekansız bir izlekte vuku bulur. Yaratım süreci bir yanıyla meditatif bir süreçtir ve bu haliyle soyut aleme daha yakındır. Ancak tüm bu ruhani ve soyut diye nitelenebilecek süreç nihayetinde sertlik de içerir. Bunu yırtımlardaki sertlikte görmek mümkündür. Çalışmalar her ne kadar şeritlerin görünümü itibariyle yumuşak alımlansa da aslında süreç oldukça serttir. Sanatçı yoketme ve tekrar yaratma güdüsüyle hareket ederken, yaratılanın altını ve üstünü yani normal şartlarda izleyenin bakışlarından gizlenen taraflarını da gözler önüne çıkarmak ister. Yok ederken birşeyleri var etme. Sanatçının sanatsal merakı ve arayışında ortaya çıkan en önemli unsur budur.
Ebru Uygun bu yılın Ocak ayında Dubai de açılan Lucid Dreaming sergisinin ardından buradaki işlerinin devamı niteliğinde düşünülebilecek çalışmalarını 6 Ocak 7 Şubat tarihlerinde Dirimart ta sergileyecek. EBRU UYGUN 1974 yılında doğdu. İngiltere de Brighton Üniversitesinde Ilüstrasyon, Kingston Üniversitesinde Sanat ve dizayn bölümlerinde eğitim aldı. Ebru Uygun In Time and Rhythm January 6 February 7, 2012 Dirimart is pleased to present Ebru Uygun s second solo show at the gallery In Time and Rhythm. Uygun s large-scale works grow into re-defined paintings through their process-based technique. The application and reapplication, then, creates sculpture-like forms in 3-D on the presented canvas. Uygun s most recent expressions can be viewed in Dirimart through January 6th February 7th. Untitled 2011 Mixed media on canvas 230 x 230 cm Ebru Uygun deconstructs the traditional artistic practice with her works. The piece of art that is constantly demolished and rebuilt by the artist as part of the process, is open to different readings by the spectator. Both the subject and the object is transformed and developed constantly by leaving traces. The works are kinetic structures rather than still ones. The artist, who perceives the practice of painting as a process rather than an aftermath, imposes a transcendent meaning to her paintings. Her creative process consists of performance, collage, sound and sculpture. Her works, while close to performance concerning the nature of her artistic process, are somewhere between collage and sculpture when they are finalized. The artist goes beyond the two-dimensional essence of the painting. She changes the visual perceptions that are created by the traditional art all together and takes in the viewers into a 3D optical pattern. The exhibition will be an installation of six site-specific works. Uygun s process commences by the decision of the colors. Black, red and navy are the colors dominating the works and are often used in monochromes. Similar to her previous series, Uygun s recent works for the exhibition also posses senses of timelessness and nonlocality. The creation process is in a way, a meditative continuum and therefore closer to the abstract world. However, this process that can be defined as abstract and spiritual is also rather rough. The vulgarity can be observed in the tear damage on the works. While the artist acts upon the motive of destroying and recreating, she wants to unfold the normally hidden side of the creation.
