4 Değerli Dostlarımız, Ülkemizin en önemli kış yelken yarışlarından biri olan THE MARMARA BAYK KIŞ TROFESİ nin heyecanlı yarışlarının devam ettiği şu günlerde, yelken sporunu tutkuya dönüştürmüş yelkencilerimize keyif vermenin mutluluğu içindeyiz. Sezon boyunca devam edecek olan yarışların Bodrum un kış turizmine getireceği hareketlilik de, Milta Bodrum Marina olarak hepimizi heyecanlandırıyor. Sene boyunca canlılığını hiç yitirmeyen Milta Bodrum Marina, aynı zamanda, denizcilerimize hep daha iyiyi sunmayı hedefliyor. Bunun için planladığı bazı yenilikleri, şevkle çalışarak, hayata geçirmeye başladı bile. Marina çarşısını ziyaret eden misafirlerimizin hava şartlarından olumsuz etkilenmeden, kaliteli zaman geçirmelerini sağlamak adına, çarşı üstü yelken brandası ile kapatıldı. Bununla birlikte, denizcilerimizin konforunu yükseltmek adına, marina çarşısı ve marina içerisindeki duş ve tuvaletler tamamen yenilendi. Biz, hiç eksilmeyen enerjimiz ve yeni planlarımızla yeni döneme hazırlanırken, siz deniz tutkunu dostlarımıza keyifle geçireceğiniz bir sezon diliyoruz. Dergimizin 20. sayısında da keyifle okuyacağınızı ve deniz tutkunlarının işine yarayacağını düşündüğümüz konulara yer verdik. Büyük bir ilgiyle yayınımızı takip eden okurlarımıza teşekkür ederiz. The races will go on all season long and as Milta Bodrum Marina we are happy to contribute Bodrum s winter s tourism. Milta Bodrum Marina is a marina which liveliness carries on all year, and our main target is to serve our sailors as best as we could. For that reason some of our new projects came to life. We cover our marina s shopping centre with sailor s hammock for our guests, not to interrupt their quality time by the bad weather conditions. The other thing is, to improve our sailors comfort; our team renovated all the toilets in the shopping center and in the marina. While we are getting ready to a new period with energy and new plans, as Bodrum Milta Marina we all wish our sea enthusiasts a season which they can enjoy the most. On the 20th issue of our magazine we prepared articles and useful tips for our sailors which we believe that sea enthusiasts will enjoy. We all thank for our magazine s loyal followers.

Once a bay in the Aegean Sea, the Bafa Lake turned into a silt lake by geomorphologic effects. The main source is the water coming from the mountains and causing the Menderes River to over flow into this lake. I had researched a bit before I met with Seda Darılmaz to talk about Homeopathy. However, it was a painful experience to find out, right after 15 minutes, how much I was uninformed on several topics. Let s see if you will share the same feelings with me? Let s start with your meeting with homeopathy. What kind of a journey is it? I was 15 when I first got to know homeopathy. It helped me to survive a difficult period of adolescence. I have never given up since then. Later, my university life began. I attended the faculty of Business Administration. I continued my education in France. I decided to study Psychology. But I always wondered whether this branch of science alone was helpful for people. Maybe it was because I had experienced homeopathy and benefitted from it. What is the philosophy of homeopathy? Homeopathy always looks at the whole. It aims at mental, physical and psychological recovery because balancing the mind and the body is very important. Homeo means similar and pathy means disease in Latin. So the lexical meaning of homeopathy is a system of treating like with like. Homeopathy, a holistic method of treatment, sees an individual as a physical, emotional and mental whole. Nedir homeopatinin felsefesi? Homeopati her zaman bütüne bakar. Zihinsel, bedensel ve ruhsal iyileşmeyi hedefler. Çünkü beden ve zihni dengelemek çok önemlidir. Homeopati nin kelime açılımı, benzerin benzerle tedavisi demektir. Latince de Homeo; benzer, pathos ise hastalık anlamına gelir. Holistik yani bütüncül bir tedavi sistemi olan Homeopati, kişiyi fiziksel, duygusal ve zihinsel bir bütün olarak görür. Nasıl bir tedavi süreci uyguluyorsunuz? Hastayla yaptığımız görüşmede onun fiziksel, zihinsel ve ruhsal özelliklerini öğrenmeye çalışırız. Örneğin herkesin migren rahatsızlığı olabilir. Ancak bunun oluşum süreci farklıdır. Ben, kişinin migreniyle değil, migrene sebep olan durumla ilgileniyorum. Ne zamandan beri bu rahatsızlıkla yaşıyor? Örneğin 10 yıllık bir süreçse, 10 yıl önce ne yaşamış olabilir? Alışkanlıkları nedir? Ne yer, ne içer, nasıl uyur? Yaklaşık iki saat süren bir analizden söz ediyorum. Burada amaç, bireyi bir bütün olarak ele almaktır. Daha basit anlatmak gerekirse, elimizde bir puzzle var. Ancak bu puzzle ın bazı parçaları eksik. İşte kişinin yaşam enerjimizdeki kayıplardır o eksik parçalar. Önemli olan o boşlukları doldurup, yaşam enerjisini geri kazanmaktır. Homeopatide kişinin kendi kendini iyileştirme gücünü aktive ediyoruz. İnsan kendi kendine homeopati uygulayabilir mi? Buna hayır demek zorundayım. Çünkü kişinin kendi duygularını tahlil etmesi gerçekten çok zordur. Üzgün ya da depresif bir haldeyken kendinize dışarıdan bakmanız, kendinizi tahlil etmeniz gerçekten mümkün olmuyor. Bizim de homeopatlarımız var mesela. What kind of a treatment period do you practice? We try to find out about the physical, mental and spiritual characteristics of that person during an interview. For example, everybody may suffer from migraine. However, the process of formation is different. I am not interested in migraine; my interest is what causes it. How long has the patient been suffering from this illness? If it is, let s say, a period of 10 years, then what was it that s/he experienced 10 years ago? What are his/her habits? What does s/he eats or drinks or how does s/he sleep? I am talking about an analysis that lasts nearly 2 hours. Here, the aim is to get to know the person as a whole. Simply, there is a jigsaw puzzle in front of you. But the puzzle is missing some parts. Those missing parts are actually what you are missing in your life energy. What is important is to fill in the gaps and recover the energy of life. We are activating the power of the individual to heal itself. Can a person apply homeopathy to himself/herself? I have to say no to this because it is really difficult for someone to analyze their own feelings. Looking at yourself from an external perspective when you are depressed or upset, or analyzing yourself is really impossible. We, for instance, also have homeopaths. How and why does energy of life decreases? Energy of life comes from our existence. The duration of evolution goes on as long as we live. Let me state it this way: You have a full glass of water. You use this all your life. When you are 18, you notice that the water inside you has decreased. If you lack awareness, if you don t improve yourself, if you are not adding up, it means you are constantly depriving yourself. And when you are 35 or 40, disorders begins. Today, there are almost more than 3 thousand agents used in homeopathy. Do you mean used as medication? It would be better to say homeopathic agents. These are natural extracts from plants, animals and minerals. Homeopathic products are prepared in homeopathic labs and pharmacies all over the world. Their raw materials come from the root of plants, their leaves or seeds. The difference between the regular medications is; it s not containing any chemicals. The most substantial thing is; it is tested on healthy persons. This proves that homeopathic remedies don t have any side effects. There are homeopathic products in Turkey, aren t there? I think very soon, we will be able to find them in all pharmacies. However, they are more common in European countries. In these countries the treatment and the medicine for homeopathy are covered by insurance. I had the chance to experience this in France. Hayatımıza Blokajlar Koyuyoruz. Homeopatik ürünler, bugün tüm dünyada bulunan homeopatik eczaneler ve laboratuarlarda hazırlanıyor. Hammaddesi, bir bitkinin kökünden, yaprağından, tohumundan elde edilebiliyor. Bildiğimiz ilaçlardan farkı, kimyasal madde içermemeleridir. Ve en önemli yönü ise sağlıklı insanlar üzerinde denenmesidir. Bu da homeopatik ürünlerin hiçbir yan etkisinin bulunmadığının en güzel kanıtıdır bize göre. Türkiye de homeopatik ürünler var değil mi? Yakın zamanda tüm eczanelerde homeopati ürünlerinin bulunabileceğini düşünüyorum ancak; Avrupa ülkelerinde çok daha yaygın. Üstelik üç yıl süren zorlu bir eğitim süreci var. Ben Alman Hocam Rita Kaya nın desteğiyle başladım bu eğitime. Türkiye yi homeopati ile tanıştıran kişidir kendisi. Beş yıl süren eğitim sürecimde, iki yıl boyunca O nun asistanlığını yapma fırsatım oldu. Bu da benim için büyük bir şanstı. Gerçekten çok komplike ve zor bir sistem. Çok popüler bir takım alternatif tedavi yöntemleri var. Reiki gibi örneğin Homeopati ile bu yöntemlerin buluştuğu bir nokta var mı? Ben aynı zamanda enerji terapistiyim. Reiki, refleksoloji, shiatsu ve benzeri uygulamaların da eğitimlerini aldım. Homeopati danışmanlığı yaparken bu bilgilerden de yararlanıyorum. I started this training with the support of my German teacher Rita Kaya. She is the person who introduces homeopathy to Türkiye. During my 5 years of education I had a chance to be her assistant for about two years and that was a big chance for me. This system is really complicated and a difficult one. There a couple of popular healing methods. Reiki for example Do homeopathy and such methods have anything in common? I am also an energy therapist. I have training in Reiki, reflexology, shiatsu and the like. When I am mentoring, I also use these disciplines. These techniques helped me to understand the human body better. After all, the parameters of homeopathy are the differences in bodies, habits and behaviors. Could you, as a homeopath, give me some tips about life? This is a completely personal request. The body demands something from us. It signals continuously. For example, you have a headache and you try to cure it taking medicine. But you never ask why you have a headache. Once you start asking why, it means you have started to get to the bottom of the problem. For example, we have strong energy ties with the past. We take them with us everywhere. There are nice changes we want to make in our lives. But we can t make them because we always have but s. I want this but first I have to solve that problem. we say. We have blockings in our lives. Geçen yaz Hüseyin Karakaya nın Füsun Kardeşler teknesinde güverte işlerinde çalışmıştı. Deniz yelini bağrında hisseden herkes gibi onun da denizden kopması artık olanaksızdı. Oysa onun amacı farklıydı: Çocukken, yün örülen şişlerden zıpkın yapar, balık avlardık. Denize her dalışımda başka başka büyülenirdim. Bu yüzden ben, dalgıç olmak istiyordum. diyor ve biraz durakladıktan sonra devam ediyor: Çocukken en çok sünger ağalarına hayrandım. Büyüyünce hep onlar gibi olmak isterdim. Sünger ağası? O zamanlar en çok para süngercilerde vardı. Lokantalarda hep onlar olur, düğünlerinde onlar para savururdu. Giyim kuşamları, biz köylülerden çok farklıydı. Ali nin babası, çiftçiydi. Ancak tarla tokat yetersiz ve verimsiz olduğundan, bu yöreden topladığı ırgatlarla Milas, Yatağan, Söke ovalarına tütüne, pamuğa giderdi. Kışları da köylerde öteberi satardı. Ali, ilkokulu bitirince birkaç yıl babasına yardım etmişti. Dedim ya ben tarla işi sevmezdim. Babamla çalıştım; ama benim aklım fikrim denizdeydi. Bu fırsatı nasıl yakaladınız peki? 1966 da. Yani Füsun Kardeşler de çalıştığımın ertesi yılı. Yaşım neredeyse 18 olacak. Ben hâlâ dalgıç olma sevdama uzağım ve çok mutsuzum. Yeni bir sünger mevsimi daha başlamıştı. Ali Ilgın Anlatmıyor, sanki yeniden yaşıyor o günleri Bir arkadaşımla mı gittim, yalnız mı, emin değilim. Rıhtımda son hazırlıklarını yapan Erol teknesinin çevresinde dolandım bir süre. Kaptanı görür görmez, dalgıç lazım mı, diye sordum. Sonra?.. Kaptan onca telaş içinde şöyle bir bakıp Ustan kim senin? diye sordu. Dudaklarımdan Durmuş Kaptan adı dökülüverdi. O, Durmuş Kaptan la hiç çalışmamış; ama babasını ziyarete geldiğinde birkaç kez görmüşlüğü var. Muslu Kaptan, belki acemi de olsa bir çalışana gereksinimi olduğundan, belki de Durmuş Kaptan ı çok iyi bildiğinden; Geç! demiş, başıyla. Ali Düşlerimi avuçlarında hissettim bir anda. diyor. Arkadaşların çıkardıkları süngerlere bakıyor, onlara çaktırmadan süngerleri yırtıyor, süngerlerin uslu mu, deli mi olduklarını ayırt etmeye çalışıyor; yine de emin olamıyorum. Süngerlerden birini aldım, gizlice şortumun içine koydum, onunla daldım. Hiç ölü süngerle diri sünger aynı olur mu? Sünger denizde simsiyahtır. Böyle sarı bir renk alması sonradan, işlenince olur. Dedim ya, o zaman hiçbir şey bilmiyordum. Bu da pek işime yaramadı. Bu arada Gökova ya açılmıştık. İçimde bir korku: Ya kaptan, benim dalgıç olmadığımı anlar da buralarda bırakırsa! Öyle bir şey olmadı değil mi? Her dalışımda süngerleri görüyorum; ama ben, hangilerini alacağımı bilmediğimden eli boş çıkıyorum. Arkadaşlar, niye süngersiz geliyorsun diye sorduklarında, onlara ya sünger görmediğimi söylüyor ya da ben sünger değil, balık avlamayı seviyorum diyo- Ali has always wanted to be a sailorman since his childhood. He worked at Huseyin Karakaya s boat named Füsun Kardeşler last year, doing some deck stuff. As with everyone who feels the sea breeze on his chest, he could no way stay away from the sea. However, his intention was different: We used to make spear gun out of knitting needles and go fishing when we were kids. Whenever I dived into sea, I used to be amazed in different ways. That is why, I wanted to be a diver he says and continues after a little pause: I was fond of sponge masters the most when I was a kid. I always wanted to be like them when I grew up. Sponge master? Back then, the most money used to be in the hands of spongedivers. Always they used to be at restaurants, or blow money around at their ceremonies. Their outfits were different from us, villagers. Ali s father was a farmer. However he used to go to the lowlands of Milas, Yatagan and Soke to reap tobacco or cotton with the farm laborers he picked up around this area, as the land was insufficient and unproductive. He used to sell various things at villages in winters. Ali had helped his father for a couple of years after being graduated from elementary school. As I said, I never liked the land job. I worked with my father; but I always thought about nothing but sea, says he. So how did you get this opportunity? In 1966, I mean, the one year after I worked at Füsun Kardeşler. I was almost 18. I was still far from my passion of being a diver and was so unhappy. Another sponge season had arrived. He not only tells, but feels deeply nostalgic as if he lives those days again I am not sure if I went there with a friend of mine or by myself. I wandered around the boat named Erol whose final preparations are about to be over on the deck. As soon as I saw the captain, I asked if there was a need for a diver. And then?.. Being in a rush, the captain casted a glance and asked: Who is your master? All of a sudden, I just said Captain Durmuş. He never worked with Captain Durmuş, but saw him a couple of times when he visited his father. Captain Muslu said Ok!, nodding his head, partly because he may need a labourer despite of being amateur, and partly because he knows Captain Durmuş well. I felt like I held my dreams in my palms, says Ali. I got hired. Moreover, as diver. But you are not a diver He laughs I remember very well. I dived at Gümbet for the first time. He sells his goods to Arif Karakaya for a higher price as he had not made a pre-connection with a sponge merchant. This smooths the way for him. The good divers prefer to work for him to make more money. Ali Ilgın buys the Tıkır Tıkır Cumhur s boat named Uçan Celik, with a length of 11.5 meters in partnership with Ali the Upholsterer. Ali Ilgın was not content with the money he earned from snails, though the business is big. He explains this situation by saying: You know the weather of Black Sea, it constantly rains. The water gets turbid because of storms, waves, currents, etc. Moreover, that water is freezing. You freeze as hard as stone within 20 minutes even if you wear thick clothes and gloves. For this reason, you cannot sail for snail hunting regularly, even if you do, you cannot work productively. While this is case, you have to consider feeding the workers. I gave up and went back to Bodrum. Ali Ilgın went back to Bodrum, but sponge-diving, which he carries out for earning his life, was almost history. This time, he sets a team consisting of bold divers like him and starts to carry out fishing with spear gun. What he does is poaching, and he is named Slaughterer. He defends himself, saying What I did was illegal; but we did not slaughter. We used to catch 80 to 100 fish per day. If we happened to deal with smaller fish, we would not catch that amount of fish. His diving life ends as the result of this accident. After that he continues his life by working at boats and ships as captain. I asked to him what he would do if he had a chance to go back. He says, I would buy Rasgele2 and spend the rest of my life on that boat. He tells as if he follows the tracks of a sad story: I escaped many dangers when I was on it. I sank in Kemer. But I am a man of property, thanks to it. Now I miss even its damp-smelling beds. I loved it so much that I could not sell it. I gave it to the son of my wife s sister s husband so that it will always be in front of my eyes, thinking that if I sold it, I would not help myself when I saw it in the hands of someone else. He used to love the boat, but he was poor. Unfortunately, he sold it as soon as he obtained title deeds, and bought a truck instead. I haven t talked to him anymore since then. While listening to this sea-laborer, who has spent almost 50 years of his life on the seas and still is ready to be on the sea until his last breathe despite of all his sufferings he had on the sea, I asked myself over and over again: What is this charm, this magic of the sea? How can this sea keep the interests alive like that? I am sure that it is very difficult for us, the landers, to give answers of these questions! Like many sea laborer from Bodrum, he was also a peasant child, who was forced to sea because of poorness. Now that he still keeps his passion for the sea in his veins, isn t it an indication of the generosity, vastness and the power of the sea that makes us hold on to life?

Hayatında denize ayağını sokmayanlar, denizle dost olamayanlar, doğayla barışık yaşamayı bilemeyenler, tanrının yarattığı o muhteşem güzellikleri fark edemeyenler zarar vermesinler Gökova ya, Hisarönü ne, Dalyan ın İztuzu na, Kisebükü ne, Adalıyalı ya Kisebükü nde inşaat başlarsa, arkası çorap söküğü gibi gelir. Kimse tutamaz diğer koyları. Yeşilin ve mavinin betona yenik düşmesini kimse önleyemez. Deniz turizminden, mavi yolculuktan bahsedemeyiz artık. Her yeri otelle doldurursak, her yere peynir kalıbı gibi siteleri kondurursak, Gökova ya ticari gemi limanları yapmaya kalkışırsak, sadece mavi yolculuğu değil, amatör denizciliğimizi de, deniz sevdamızı da öldürürüz. Don t let the people who never step once into the sea, never had a friendship with it, doesn t know how to live in peace with nature, and doesn t know the beauty of what god created, scathe to Gökova, Hisarönü, Dalyan İztuzu, Kisebükü and Adalı Once the construction begins in Kisebükü, then the rest of the actions will come. Nobody will stand up for rest of the bays. No one will preserve green and blue to become concrete. We will not be able to talk about sea tourism and blue voyage anymore. If we built hotels everywhere, construct building concepts like cheese hoops, try to make commercial ship port to Gökova, we are not only going to finish the blue voyage but also amateur seafaring and our love of sea. Türkiye is a huge country Don t we have other places to construct buildings instead of ruining the places that we have to protect. For about 30 years these places retained. Now we also shatter the Special Environment Protection Agency. From now on what will going to happen, who will preserve these areas? Costal plans were made without asking the sector s opinion. The plan makers have no sea of love or interest. For that reason our seas, shores seems to be like in god s hands. For making a planning you don t only need a pencil and ruler, you also need knowledge and vision Sea tourism is a different kind of thing; thermal tourism is much more If we put those all together and shake the bag, than we will toss to the wall. Is there a need of ship port in Gökova? What are we going to load to those ships? There is no such production, no factories there. Can t they find anywhere better than Gökova to ship Muğla s marble? They already damage Gökova and round with thermal plant. Don t make the damage bigger with a ship port for commercial vessels. Do not under estimate blue voyage and sea tourism. Türkiye s seas have a capacity more that 50 thousand beds. You can commercialize the bed at land around 60 to 70 TL, but at the sea the price goes up like 100 to 150 Euros per bed for a beautiful boat. On the other hand lots of local and foreign flag boats are sailing at Gökova and its bays with peace and freedom. Tekne sahibini, denizciyi, yaşam gücünü denizden ve doğadan alanları küstürmemeli, ürkütmemeli, aksine teşvik etmeliyiz. Bir dünya şaheseri olan İztuzu na kaplumbağa hastanesi yapacaklar. O bölgede insanların gideceği doğru dürüst bir hastane yokken, kaplumbağalara bu özel muamele niye ki? Dokunmayın hayvanlara, bırakın kendi hallerine. Dünyayı kendimize güldürmenin âlemi var mı? For that reason we have to do everything within a plan. We should not leave Gökova and Hisrönü bays to its faith. Those natural beauties are not only ours; we should let the next generations able to see and live in those beautiful areas. We should not give any harm to blue voyage which is known as a brand in the world. We should not frighten the boat owners, sailors, our natural heritages and people who gets their life energy from sea They are going to make a turtle hospital to the world s masterwork İztuzu. There is no convenient hospital for people who live there, so why turtle hospital is a need? Take your hands off the animals, let them live in their environment. There is no need to make the world laugh to us. They already made a prefabricated working place and even a pool. Now it seems that, they are going to built there a big concrete hospital and mass houses. So that then they can able to ruin there too. I don t know if are they aware of, but most probably even the turtles are laughing at them. What so ever please protect our seas, bays, shores and beaches. Don t let them ruin with shallow projects and benefits.
