BANDIRMA Band rma, sahip oldu u konum itibariyle sosyal, kültürel ve ekonomik anlamda çok önemli birikime sahip ve sürekli geliflen bir flehirdir. Kara, deniz, hava ve demiryolu gibi çok çeflitli ulafl m olanaklar sayesinde kolay ulaflabilirli i ile de dikkat çekmektedir. Karayolu ile Bal kesir üzerinden Ege'ye ve güneye, Bursa üzerinden tüm Anadolu'ya ve stanbul'a, Çanakkale üzerinden de Trakya'ya rahatça ulafl lmaktad r. Band rma ekonomisinde tar m sektörünün de önemi büyüktür. Verimli topraklara ve tar ma elveriflli bir iklime sahip arazisinin büyük bir bölümünde, baflta tah l olmak üzere zeytin, bu day, m s r, ayçiçe i, kanola gibi endüstri bitkileri yetifltirilmektedir. Bitkisel üretimin yan nda sebzecilikte yayg n olarak yap lmaktad r. Ayr ca bal kç l k ve su ürünleri de önemli geçim kaynaklar aras ndad r. Bölgede tar ma dayal sanayi çok yönlü geliflme kaydetmektedir. Band rma ve çevresinde üretimi yap lan tar m ürünlerinin çeflitlili i ve ürün deseninin zenginli i bu geliflimi desteklemektedir. lçede; gübre, un, yem, çeltik, bitkisel ya, dam zl k civciv, etlik piliç, yumurta, salça, dondurulmufl su ürünleri, mermer ve tafl iflletmecili inde ülkemizin önde gelen firmalar n n tesisleri bulunmaktad r. Bugün ülkemizde üretilen kimyasal gübrenin % 15'i, etlik civcivin % 25'i, yumurtal k civcivin %20'si Band rma'da üretilmektedir. Marmara Bölgesi'nin sanayi flehirleri ve metropolleri olan stanbul, Bursa ve Kocaeli'nde yeni sanayi tesislerinin yap m na imkân verecek arazi uygunlu u art k yoktur. Mevcut tesislerin büyük flehir yap lanmalar içinde yaflad klar ma duriyetler yat r m anlam nda da Band rma ve çevresini cazip k lmaktad r. Ticaretin geliflmesindeki en önemli etken, Band rma'n n sahip oldu u ifllek liman ve ticari hayat son derece hareketli olan merkezlere yak nl d r. Bunun d fl nda sanayi ürünleri, tüketim mallar ve madenler önemli yer tutmaktad r. Band rma Liman May s 2008 tarihinde özellefltirilmifltir. Liman n flu andaki y ll k ifllem hacminin 3 milyon tondan 10 milyon tona ç kmas hedeflenmektedir. Band rma'da, sanayi sektörünün tamam na yak n n imalat sanayi oluflturmaktad r. Tar ma dayal sanayi a rl kl olan fabrikalar n hammaddesinin büyük bölümü bölgemizden karfl lanmaktad r. Hammadde kaynaklar n n yak nl, tar ma dayal sanayinin gelifliminde önemli bir etken olmufltur. Enerji temini aç s ndan Manyas ve Gönen hidroelektrik santralleri ile yap m h zla devam eden yüksek kapasiteli do algaz ve rüzgâr enerjisi santralleri de bölgeye yat r m yapacak sanayi kurulufllar na gelecekte avantaj sa layacakt r. flte bu yüzden önemli bir liman kenti de olan Band rma, Güney Marmara'n n parlayan y ld z d r. Band rma ve çevresi turizm aç s ndan zengin bir potansiyele sahiptir. Dünyaca ünlü Kuflcenneti, antik ça lar n iki önemli dönemine ait Kyzikos ve Daskyleion Antik Kentleri ve kaz lar, Kap da 'da do a turizmi, kuruluflu M.Ö.'ye dayanan Edincik'te Osmanl motiflerini yans tan tarihi doku, Erdek ve Avfla'da deniz turizmi, Manyas'da termal turizm bölgemizin önemli zenginlikleri aras nda yer almaktad r.

BANDIRMA Band rma is a city developing continuously with a wealth that is considerable in a social, cultural and economic sense due to its location. It attracts attentions with its easy access thanks to various access opportunities including land, sea, air and railway. It is easy to go Aegean and south on Bal kesir by land, to entire Anatolia and Istanbul on Bursa and to Thrace on Çanakkale. Agricultural sector has an important role in economy of Band rma. Industrial plants are grown on a significant part of its land with productive soils and a climate suitable for agriculture mainly including cereals as well as olive, wheat, corn, sunflower, canola. Vegetable gardening is also widespread in addition to vegetable production. Significant sources of income also include fishery and water products. The agriculture-based industry records multi-directional development in the region. This development is supported by diversity of agricultural products grown in Band rma and surrounding and richness of product pattern. Our district covers plants of the leading companies of our country in fertilizer, flour, feed, paddy, vegetable oil, breeding chick, chicken for meat, egg, sauce, frozen water products, marble and stone business. 15% of the chemical fertilizer, 25% of chicken for meat and 20% of chicken for egg produced in our country are met from Bandirma. There are no lands in Istanbul, Bursa and Kocaeli that are industrial cities and metropolis of Marmara Region suitable for construction of new industrial plants any more. Difficulties experienced by existing plants in metropolitan structuring also make Bandirma and surroundings attractive in terms of investment. The most important factor in commercial development is busy port of Band rma and its closeness to the centers with extremely active commercial life. Band rma Port is the second largest port at Marmara Sea after Istanbul. The port at 12 meter depth has a capacity to allow 15 ships up to 20 thousand gross ton to draw into and load and discharge at the same time. Export made from the port mainly includes industrial products, mines, chicken meat, egg, sea and water products. Industrial raw materials represent 70% of import. Apart from this, industrial products, consumption commodities and mines have an important role. Bandirma Port was privatized in May 2008. Annual process volume of the port intended to be increased from 3 million tons to 10 million tons. Manufacturing industry represents substantially of the entire industrial sector of Band rma. Most part of raw material of the factories mostly covering agriculture-based industry is met from our district. Closeness to raw material sources has become an important factor in development of agriculture-based industry. The major investments are made in poultry husbandry field in recent years. In addition, especially marble and stone business, agriculture machines and sauce sector broke through in addition to all sectors. Manyas and Gönen hydroelectric plants and high capacity natural gas and wind power plants under construction shall also provide the industrial organizations to invest in the region with advantages in terms of power supply in the future. Therefore, Band rma which is an important port city is the shining star of the South Marmara. Band rma and surroundings have a rich potential in terms of tourism. Significant wealth of our touristic region includes worldwide famous Kuflcenneti, Kyzikos and Daskyleion Antique Cities and excavations of two important eras of ancient times, natural tourism in Kap da, historical pattern reflecting Ottoman motives in Edincik established B.C., sea tourism in Erdek and Avfla, thermal tourism in Manyas.

Yo un tüketim alanlar na yak nl, iklimsel uygunlu u, co rafi konumu ve ulafl m imkânlar n n sa lad lojistik ve nakliye kolayl nedeniyle Band rma da beyaz et üretimi oldukça geliflmifltir. 22% of white meat production of Turkey is met from Band rma. Most part of worldwide branded winged meat production plants producing at the world standards with the technology and integrated systems they own locate in Band rma. White meat production improved considerably due to logistics and transportation facilities resulted from closeness to intensive consumption areas, favorable climate, geographical location and access opportunities.

Bu konuda yurt içi ve yurt d fl sat fl yapan giriflimci say s gittikçe artmaktad r. Red meat production is based on beef and veal. Red meat is used directly and tables and sales shelves cover processed products with its ranges such as ready meatball, fried meat, salami, burger meat, sausage. Number of entrepreneurs performing domestic and foreign sales in this field increases day by day.

Water products

al kç l k ve su ürünleri, Band rma'da önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bal kç l k, ilçemizdeki geçim kaynaklar ndan biridir. Bölgede a rl kl olarak; hamsi, palamut, sardalya, kolyoz, istavrit, levrek, mezgit, lüfer ve uskumru gibi deniz ve tatl su bal k türleri avlanmaktad r. lçe merkezinden Avrupa ve Uzakdo u ülkelerine dondurulmufl bal k, karides, deniz salyangozu gibi kabuklu su ürünleri ile kurba a ve kara salyangozu gibi ürünlerin ihrac yap lmaktad r. Fishery and water products have an important place in Band rma. Fishery is one of the sources of income in our district. Sea and fresh water fish types are trolled mostly including anchovy, bonito, sardine, chub, horse mackerel, sea bass, whiting fish, blue fish and mackerel. Shelled water products such as frozen fish, prawn, sea snail and any products such as frog and land snail are exported from the district center to the European and the Far East countries.

Ayr ca ilçemizin bir gümrük kap s olmas nedeniyle de büyük önem tafl makta, küçümsenmeyecek miktarda ithalat ve ihracat yap lmaktad r. HUBUBAT Bölgemizde kullan labilir tar m alanlar m z n yaklafl k 374.950 hektar nda hububat üretimi yap lmaktad r. Hububat ekim alan içerisinde %64 pay ile ilk s ray bu day, %29 payla ikinci s rada m s r ve %5,3 payla arpa üçüncü s rada gelmektedir. Bu ürünleri s rayla çeltik ve yulaf izlemektedir. SEBZE-MEYVE Band rma'da üretimi yap lan bafll ca sebze türleri olarak kavun, karpuz, biber, domates, fasulye, p rasa, karnabahar, spanak, so an, maydanoz vard r. So an, kavun, bakla, spanak, bu day, biber ve çeltik tohumluklar ndan sertifikal tohumluk yetifltiricili i de geliflerek devam eden bir sektördür. Kap da Yar madas 'n n kuzeyinde yer alan Ball p nar Köyü ve çevresindeki köylerde yetifltirilen k rm z so an, lezzeti bak m ndan çok ünlüdür. CEV Z F DANCILI I Ceviz yetifltiricili ine esas olmak üzere ülkemizde yo un ceviz fidan üretim merkezi Band rma'd r. Özellikle Sahil Yenice ve Band rma merkezine yak n lokasyonlarda ciddi miktarlarda üretim mevcuttur. Türkiye'nin ceviz fidan üretiminin yaklafl k %85-90'l k k sm bölgemizde yap lmaktad r. TARIMA DAYALI SANAY Band rma'da tar ma dayal sanayi kurulufllar hammadde ihtiyac n n büyük bölümünü bölgemizden karfl lamaktad r. Hammadde kaynaklar n n yak nl, tar ma dayal sanayinin gelifliminde önemli katk sa lam flt r. Band rma'da modern tesislere ve alt yap ya sahip; un, salça, maya, soya ve çeltik fabrikalar bulunmaktad r.

Agricultural products Our district has become a significant agriculture, commerce and industry center thanks to its geographical location in a short time. Closeness of our district to important residence and consumption centers like Istanbul, Bursa, Izmir as well as land, sea and railway transportation increased opportunities of state and private sector investors to invest in our district and thus significant improvements have been seen in agriculture. Dynamism is observed in each season in our district thanks to absence of any problems related to access to the surrounding cities and suitable climate conditions and it is adopted as a permanent settlement. In addition, our district has a significant importance due to being a customs gate as well and a considerable level of import and export is realized. GRAINS Grain production is made on approximately 374.950 hectares of the useable agricultural lands in our district. Wheat ranks at the top by 64% in grains cultivation area followed by corn by 29% and barley by 5.3% respectively. These products are followed by paddy and oats in turn. VEGETABLE-FRUIT Main vegetable types produced in Band rma include melon, watermelon, pepper, tomato, bean, leek, cauliflower, spinach, onion, parsley. Certified seed growing from onion, melon, horse bean, spinach, wheat, pepper and paddy seeds is also a sector improving permanently. Red onion grown in Ball p nar Village and surrounding villages located on the north of Kap da Peninsula is very famous with its taste. WALNUT GROWING Band rma is the intensive walnut plant production center as the basis of walnut growing. Considerable quantities are produced in Sahil Yenice and locations close to Band rma center. Approximately 85-90% of walnut plant production of Turkey is made in our district. AGRICULTURE-BASED INDUSTRY: Agriculture-based industrial institutions in Band rma meet most part of raw material requirement from our district. Closeness to raw material sources contributed in improvement of agriculture-based industry at a great extent. There are flour, sauce, yeast, soy and paddy factories with modern plants and infrastructure in Band rma.

Süt ve süt ürünleri Milk and dairy products

üyükbafl ve küçükbafl hayvanc l k, köylerimizde halk n önemli geçim kaynaklar ndan biri olarak varl n sürdürmektedir. Ayr ca Band rma'da bulunan Marmara Hayvanc l k Araflt rma Enstitüsü ülke geneline keçi ve koyun sat fl yapmakta, nesilleri tehlikede olan hayvan rklar n n genlerinin korunmas konusunda da çal flmalar gerçeklefltirmektedir. Üretilen süt ve süt ürünleri bölgemiz için önemli bir gelir kayna d r. Band rma ve çevresinde tereya, peynir, yo urt ve höflmerim tatl s üretimi yap lmaktad r. Bölgemize özgü kelle (Mihaliç) peyniri ülke çap nda önemli bir yere sahiptir. Cattle and sheep & goat breeding stand as one of the most important sources of income of the public in our villages. In addition, Marmara Animal Breeding Research Institution in Band rma makes goat and sheep sales throughout the country and carries out studies regarding protection of genes of animal stocks whose generations are in danger. Milk and dairy products produced are a significant source of income for our district. Butter, cheese, yoghurt and hosmerim (a sweet made of unsalted cheese) are produced in Band rma and surroundings. Head cheese which is special to our region (Mihalic) has a considerable place within the country.

Yumurta Egg

and rma'da irili ufakl 250 tane iflletme bulunmaktad r. Band rma, ülkemizdeki yumurtal k civcivin yüzde 20'sini, beyaz et ve yumurtan n yüzde 22'sini üreten bir merkezdir. Band rma ve çevresindeki iklimsel uygunlu u da yumurta üretiminin kalitesini art rmaktad r. 2006 y l nda kurulan Band rma Yumurta Üreticileri Birli i, yumurtan n tek elden pazarlanmas ve ihracat konusunda önemli çal flmalar yapmaktad r. Ayr ca bölgemizde likit yumurta üretimi de yap lmaktad r. There are large and small 250 enterprises in Band rma. Band rma is a center producing 20 percent of chick for egg, 22 percent of white meat and eggs in our country. Favorable climate in Band rma and surroundings also increases quality of egg production. Band rma Egg Producers Association established in 2006 carries out significant studies regarding marketing and export exclusive marketing and export of egg. In addition, liquid egg production is also made in our district.

Ülkemizin sofral k zeytin sektöründe en büyük üretici kuruluflu olan Marmarabirlik, Erdek ve Edincik Kooperatifleri ile Güney Marmara'n n zeytin üretiminin önemli bir k sm n al p de erlendirmektedir. Band rma'ya 10 km uzakl kta bulunan Edincik'de de zeytincilik çok eski dönemlerden beri yap lmaktad r. Ayr ca bölgede özel teflebbüslere ait birçok ya fabrikas da bulunmaktad r. B and rma and surroundings has an important place in production of olive and olive oil which are the closest friend of a healthy, high quality and long life. Turkey is at the top ranges in olive and olive oil production in the world and a significant part of table olive production of Turkey is made in Band rma and surroundings. Marmarabirlik which is the major manufacturing organization of our country in table olive sector receives and evaluates a significant part of olive production of Erdek and Edincik Cooperatives and South Marmara. Olive oil production is also made in Edincik which is 10 km far from Band rma for a long time. In addition, there are many oil factories belonging to special enterprises in the district as well.

Marmara Denizi ve çevresi, dünyada mermer üretiminde önde gelen bölgelerdendir. ri kristalli mermerin ana minerali olan kalsit ise, kâ t ve yem sanayi, plastik PVC, boya endüstrisi, ilaç sanayi, lastik ve kauçuk sektörü baflta olmak üzere birçok alanda ayr flt r c olarak kullan l yor. Band rma ve çevresindeki madenlerde çeflit bak m ndan oldukça fazla ve farkl mermer türü ve kalsit madeninin imalat yap larak yurt içi ve yurt d fl pazarlar na temini gerçeklefltiriliyor. Band rma Borax and Acid Factories belonging to Etibank were established in order to operate boron minerals and boron refining plants. Boron mineral mainly found in Turkey as well as certain countries of the world is used in many areas like cleaning, glass, ceramic, isolation, enamel, fertilizer, cement, leather, chemistry, textile, paint, fire extinguisher and drug sector. In addition, technical and pure sulfuric acid is produced in sulfuric acid plants as well and is used in many fields of the sector including fertilizer, artificial silk, paint, glass, leather, medicine, petroleum, steel metallurgy. Marmara Sea and surroundings are among the leading regions in the world in marble production. Calcite which is the main mineral of holocrystalline marble is used in many fields as resolver mainly including paper and feed industry, plastic PVC, paint industry, drug industry, plastic and rubber sector. Many sorts of different marbles and calcite mineral are manufactured in the mines in Band rma and surroundings and they are supplied to the domestic and foreign markets.

Çanakkale, Amasra ve Bozcaada ile birlikte Türkiye'nin en çok rüzgâr alan bölgesi olarak bilinen Band rma, rüzgar ve elektrik üretimine iliflkin büyük çapl enerji yat r mlar için cazibe merkezi haline gelmifl bulunmaktad r. Band rma-çanakkale yolu üzerindeki Bu dayl, Edincik, Bezirci, Paflaçiftlik, H d rköy ve fiirinçavufl köyleri ve çevresindeki genifl tar m arazileri, son iki y ld r yat r mc lar n yeni gözdesi durumundad r. Band rma Do algaz Gaz Kombine Çevrim Santrali iki gaz ve bir buhar türbininden oluflan tek çevrim ile 920 megawatt (MW) net elektrik üretimi sa layarak bu alanda Türkiye'nin en verimli santrali olacakt r. Manyas Baraj, Kocaçay üzerinde, sulama, enerji ve taflk n kontrolü amac yla 1993-2001 y llar aras nda infla edilmifl bir barajd r. Baraj 48.800 hektarl k bir alana sulama hizmeti verirken, 20 MW güç ile y ll k 66 GWh'l k enerji üretmektedir. Wind power investments are critical in Turkey for productive, reliable, clean power generation at modern standards. Band rma which is known as the windiest district of Turkey with Çanakkale, Amasra and Bozcaada has become the attraction centre for full-scale energy investments for wind and power generation. Broad agricultural lands in Bu dayl, Edincik, Bezirci, Paflaçiftlik, H d rköy and fiirinçavufl villages and surroundings on Band rma- Çanakkale highway are the new favorites of the investors in the last two years. Band rma Natural Gas Combined Cycle Plant shall provide net 920 megawatt (MW) electric generation consisting of two gas and one vapor turbines and shall be the most productive plant of Turkey in this field. Manyas Barrage is a barrage constructed in between 1993-2001 on Kocaçay for the purpose of irrigation, energy and flood control. The barrage provides irrigation service on an area of 48.800 hectares and generates energy at 66 GWh with 20 MW power in a year.

Güney Marmara birçok medeniyetin buluflma noktas olmas nedeniyle çok zengin bir kültüre sahiptir. Daskyleion'dan Kyzikos'a hatta Bizans'a kadar 5 bin y ll k tarihi miras yla kültürel bir mozai in en güzel örneklerinden birini oluflturmaktad r. Kuruluflu M.Ö. 4000'e dayanan Edincik, Kyzikos antik kentinin sayfiye yeri olarak göze çarpmaktad r. Osmanl döneminde ise Edincik, imparatorlu un önemli merkezlerinden biridir. Band rma ve çevresi turizm aç s ndan zengin bir potansiyele sahiptir. Avrupa Konsey'i taraf ndan verilen A s n f diplomaya sahip Kuflcenneti Milli Park, antik ça lar n iki önemli dönemine ait Kyzikos ve Daskyleion kal nt lar ve kaz lar ndan ç kan tarihi eserlerin sergilendi i Band rma Arkeoloji Müzesi, Kap da 'da do a turizmi, Erdek ve Avfla'da deniz turizmi, Manyas'ta termal turizmi bölgenin önemli zenginlikleri aras nda yer almaktad r. Band rma has a very significant location in the South Marmara with its strait providing access to Istanbul being the most important metropolis of Turkey and Bursa being the most important city of the region of winter tourism, Aegean and Mediterranean and with its historical pattern close to Çanakkale. Band rma is one of the most significant destinations of the world with its history, nature, sea, sand, sun and health tourism. South Marmara has a very rich culture due to being the meeting point of many civilizations. It forms one of the most beautiful samples of a cultural mosaic from Daskyleion to Kyzikos and even to Byzantine with its historical heritage for 5 thousand years. Edincik established in B.C. 4000 attracts attention as summer resort of Kyzikos antique city. In Ottoman period, however, Edincik is the most important center of the empire. Band rma and surroundings has a rich potential in touristic terms. Significant wealth of the region includes Kuflcenneti National Park possessing class A diploma issued by the European Council, Band rma Archeology Museum where historical works derived from Kyzikos and Daskyleion residual values and excavations belonging to two important areas of ancient times, natural tourism in Kap da, sea tourism in Erdek and Avfla, thermal tourism in Manyas.
