In addition, students enrolled in the program must take three of the following courses. If EE 502 is taken as a core course, one additional course is required from that list. EE 510 Fotonik (3-0) 3 Hızla gelişmekte olan fotonik teknolojileri haberleşmeden, tıp alanına, temel ve çevre bilimlerinden bir çok başka alana uygulama imkanı bulmaktadır. Ders foton kuramıyla başlamakta ve madde foton etkileşimini incelerken polarizasyon ve istatistiksel özellikler vurgulanmaktadır. Bu etkileşime dayalı kendiliğinden ve zorlanmış foton yayımı ve soğurulması incelenmektedir. Böylece lazer sistemlerin geliştirilmesi çınlayıcı(resonator) optik uygulaması olarak anlatılacaktır.
