European Union Projects RELATE (Research Labs for Teaching Journalists) Goal: To enable science journalism candidates to gain real journalism experience at real research centres. Candidates of science journalism schools from 13 European countries had the opportunity to spend one week with researchers at Bilkent NANOTAM, UNAM, Department of Chemistry, and Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics. Result: Related to scientific research in these Turkish research centres newspaper articles were published and items appeared on radio and TV in the participants countries. 23

TUBITAK Science Library Project Goal: To create a library of popular science in all Regional Boarding Primary Schools (YIBOs) and public libraries in order to support the development of an information society in Turkey. 26
