TUR un en zor etabý olan ve Toroslar ýn zirvesinde sona eren 152 kilometrelik Antalya Elmalý etabýný, Türk takýmý Konya Torku Þekerspor un Bulgar sporcusu Ivailo Gabrovski, 4 saat 21 dakika 9 saniyelik derece ile rakiplerine yaklaþýk 2 dakika fark atarak kazandý. Gabrovski nin, sýfýr rakýmdan 1850 metre yükseklikteki Toroslar ýn zirvesine uzanan zorlu etapta kazandýðý birincilik ve genel klasmanda ilk sýraya yükselmesi, Türk bisiklet camiasý ve sporseverler arasýnda büyük sevinç yarattý. Finiþe yaklaþýk 10 kilometre kala ataða kalkýp öne geçen Gabrovski nin, son metrelerde seyircinin de coþkulu desteðiyle birinciliði kimseye kaptýrmadan finiþe ulaþmasýyla büyük coþku yaþandý. Bu etapta Ýkinciliði Astana takýmýnýn Kazakistanlý sporcusu Aleksandr Dyachenko 4.22.38 lik dereceyle elde ederken Caja Rural takýmýndan Bulgar sporcu Danail Andonov Petrov, 4 saat 22 dakika 41 saniyelik dereceyle üçüncü oldu. Etabýn Türkiye Güzellikleri pirimini, Utensilnord takýmýndan Ýtalyan sporcu Matteo Fedi kazandý. Etabýn sprint primi ise GreenAdge nin Avustralyalý sporcusu Harley Matthew Goss un oldu. 2 yýl önce yaþamýný yitiren eski milli bisikletçi Rifat Çalýþkan anýsýna verilen 79. PAGE 2 Turkish cycling community and sports fans were very excited to hear the championship of Gabrovski in this difficult stage starting from zero altitude and rising up to 1850 meter height. In last 10 km, he pushed forward and when he reached to finish, there was great enthusiasm among people. Local people of Elmalý gave great support to the cyclists who would climb to peak of Taurus mountains and gave a very important message to the World in the way of knowing the importance of sports and the Tour. In this stage, Kazakhstan cyclist Aleksandr Dyachenko of Astana team took the second place in 4.22.38 and Bulgarian cyclist Danail Andonov Petrov of Caja Rural team ranked third in 4.22.41. Italian cyclists Matteo Fedi of Utensilnord earned Turkish Beauties prime of the tour and Australian cyclist Harley Matthew Goss of GreenEdge team earned sprint prime of the stage. Italian cyclist Marco Bandiera of Omega Parma team earned the uphill prime in 79. Km given in the memory of former national cyclist Rýfat Çalýþkan who died 2 years ago. 25 NÝSAN 2012 ÇARÞAMBA / 25 APRIL 2012 WEDNESDAY Pedal pedal zirveye Starttan itibaren takýmýyla son derece uyumlu bir þekilde yarýþý sürdüren Bulgan sporcu týrmanýþ etabýnýn son 10 kilometresinde olaðanüstü bir atak yaparak öne geçti. Müthiþ bir tempo yakalayan Bulgar bisikletçi, seyircinin de desteðini alarak Konya Torku Þekerspor a kolay kolay unutulmayacak bir zafer kazandýrdý. 190 BÝSÝKLETÇÝ START ALDI Saat 11.30 da verilen startla birlikte 190 bisikletçi bu müthiþ zorlu etaba baþladýlar. Daha ilk kilometrelerden itibaren kopmalar baþladý. Ancak büyük bir zaman farký ile yapýlan kaçýþlar deðildi bu ataklar. Kepez rampasý týrmanýlýrken ana gruptan herhangi bir kopma olmadýðý gözlendi. Korkuteli sapaðýnda ise yine hareketlenmeler baþ gösterdi. Ama bu da ana grubun parçalanmasý anlamýnda deðildi. ELMALI BELEDÝYESÝ MÜKEMMEL HAZIRLANMIÞ Antalya kat edilip Elmalý ya girildiðinde görülen manzara tek kelime ile mükemmeldi. Elmalý Belediye Baþkaný Hüseyin Altýntaþ, Kaymakam Mehmet Murat Çekmen ve ESÝAD ýn (Elmalý Sanayici ve Ýþadamlarý Derneði) hazýrladýðý Ýngilizce pankartlar dikkat çekiyordu. Elmalý halký hayatýnda ilk kez böyle bir organizasyona tanýk olduðundan, ilçe alabildiðince süslenmiþti. Daha sonra Eskihisar dan geçen bisikletçiler bu defa Köy Muhtarý Turan Aydoðmuþ ile Eskihisar Köyü Tarým Kalkýnma Kooperatifi Yönetim Kurulu Baþkaný Ali Çankýrýlý nýn Ýngilizce yazýlmýþ pankartlarýný gördüler. Yuva Belediye Baþkaný Hüseyin Þahin de bisikletçilere destek veren bir baþka belde belediye baþkanýydý. Köy ve beldelerin bu ilgisi, federasyon yetkililerini hayli þaþýrttý ve alkýþlarla bu ilgiyi yanýtsýz býrakmadýlar. ÝLK KAÇIÞLAR VE 8 DAKÝKALIK FARK Yarýþ, Elmalý sapaðýna girildikten sonra baþladý diyebiliriz. Bu noktada Omega Parma dan Marco Bandýera, Bretagne Scuheller den Florýan Vachon, Caja Rual dan Karol Domagalski, Columbia dan Juan Pablo Suarez, Europcar dan Tony Hurel, Farnese Vini den Leonardo Gýordaný atak yaptý. Ýlk kaçan altýlý grup arayý 3 dakika 45 saniye açtý. Arkada yaklaþýk 40 bisikletçiden oluþan ikinci bir grup oluþtu. Ve son olarak ana grup 100 ü aþkýn bisikletçi ile tempo yapmaya baþladý. Bu arada ufak tefek düþmeler meydana geldi, ancak bunlar sporcularýn yarýþa devam etmelerine engel teþkil etmedi. SAATTE 110 KÝLOMETRE HIZ YAPTILAR 40 kiþilik ön grupla arka bölümdeki grubun zaman farký, Elmalý içersinde 8 dakikaya çýktý. Bu arada ön grubun rampa aþaðý hýzýnýn saatte 110 kilometreyi bulduðu gözlendi. Nitekim bu hýz ön grubun dezavantajý oldu ve zaman farký 2 dakika 40 saniyeye indi. Üçe bölünen grup daha sonra ortadaki grubun ana grupla birleþmesiyle ikiye indi. Greýpel ve arkadaþlarý da bu grupta kalmayý baþardýlar. Ancak temponun gittikçe artmasý ve altýlý grubu ikinci grubun sýkýþtýrmasý sonucu fark, finiþe 40 kilometre kala 1 dakika 46 saniyeye kadar düþtü. Ana grupla olan fark ise 1 dakika 22 saniye olarak ölçüldü. PRÝMLERÝ ALTILI GRUP TOPLADI Bu etapta ortaya konan 4 primden üçü bu altýlý bisikletçi arasýnda paylaþýldý. Astana dan Valentýn Iglýnsky, Katusha dan Vladýmýr Isaychev ve Saxobank tan Christopher Jensen Jull, rampada tempo yapýp ana gruptan kaçmaya çalýþtý. Finiþe 19 kilometre kala ana grup farký kapadý. Zor etabýn müthiþ yarýþý artýk bir kez daha baþlamýþ oldu böylelikle. VE ZÝRVEDE GABROVSKI 10 kilometre kala etabýn kaderi de belli olmaya baþladý. Son dik ve keskin virajlý rampada ana grup tek kelimeyle daðýldý. Beþ kilometre kala Konya Torku Þekerspor dan Ivailo Gabrosvki müthiþ bir atakla gruptan kaçmayý baþardý ve farký 35 saniyeye kadar çýkardý. Bulgar bisikletçi, rampa yukarý sanki uçuyormuþçasýna müthiþ bir tempoyla pedal basmaya devam etti. 4 kilometre kala fark 52 saniyeye çýktý. Son 1 kilometre kala Konya Torku Þekerspor lu bisikletçi görülmeye deðerdi. Gabrovski, zirveye doðru tek baþýna pedal basarken adeta þov yaptý. Ve Türkiye yýllar sonra Cumhurbaþkanlýðý Bisiklet Turu nda bir yabancý sporcuyla da olsa müthiþ bir birincilik elde etmiþ oldu. TUR a bugün 132 kilometrelik Fethiye Marmaris etabý ile devam edilecek. Alexsandr Dyachenko of of Astana team came in second in 4 hours 22 minutes 38 seconds and Danail Andonov Petrov of Caja Rural team took third place in 4 hours 22 minutes 41 seconds. Bulgarian cyclist of Konya Torku Sekerspor team ranked first in Overall Individual Classification with 10 hours 43 minutes 4 seconds. Bulgarian cyclist who made a great push in last 10 km of the climbing stage won an unforgettable victory to Konya Torku Sekerspor. THEY CLIMBED TO 1850 METER HIGH FROM SEA LEVEL Foreign cyclists climbed to Göðübeli after they passed Elmalý starting from Antalya where the weather was very hot. The climbing stage 1850 meters above sea level. Cyclists who started climbing from the valley in zero point, could only record the view with camera while getting closer to Göðübeli. The scenes of pine trees and the snow at the top of the mountains were amazing that they could make the cyclists forget their exhaustion. It was sort of similar to Alphduez stage of Tour de France. It was really difficult to complete this stage in which there were sharp bends and it was even difficult with car in first gear. 190 CYCLISTS STARTED THE RACE With the start in 11.30 am, 190 cyclists started this difficult stage. Andre Schulze of Team Netapp whose number was 114 was disqualified. After first kilometers, they began to seperate from each other. But there weren t any big time differences in those pushes. While climbing Kepez ramp, it was seen that the main group stayed together. In Korkuteli turnoff, they tried to make some pushes but the main group did not separate. ELMALI WAS FANTASTIC! After passing Antalya and went through Elmali, The scene was breathtaking. The banners prepared by Elmali Mayor Huseyin Altintas and the disdrict governor Mehmet Murat Çekmen drew attentions a lot. Because of the fact that Elmali people have seen this kind or organization for the first time in their life, Elmali town was prepared with a big excitement. Then cyclists saw the banners wrriten in English prepared with the support of Headman of the village, Turan Aydogmus and the headman of the Agricultural Cooperative Development Ali Cankirili. In addition, Yuva Mayor Huseyin Sahin was supporting the teams wholeheartedly. All the excitement of public was really amazing and they all supported the organization by cheering and clapping. FIRST PUSH AND 8 MINUTES BREAKAWAY After passing the Elmali road, we can actually say the race had just begun. Marco Bandýera of Omega Pharma, Florýan Vachon of Bretagne Scuheller, Karol Domagalski of Caja Rua, Juan Pablo Suarez of Columbia, Tony Hurel of Euopcar and Leonardo Gýordanýtak of Farnese Vini were the first sprinters. The first group of six breakaways managed to open a gap in 3 minutes and 45 seconds. There was a group in between consisting of 40 cyclists. And the main group over 100 cyclists pushed them tempo all the way. There were some breakdowns but the cyclists managed to race. 110 KILOMETER SPEED PER HOUR The time gap between the 40 people main group and the others was up to 8 minutes in Elmali. Besides, it was seen that the main group s spped was up to 110 km. But it was their disadvantage and the breakaway decreased 2 minutes 40 seconds. The group was divided in to three and after the middle and the main group combining, 2 groups formed. So Greipel and his friends managed to stay in this and with pushing, the breakaway before the last 40 km was 1 minutes 46 seconds. And the gap between with the main group was calculated 1 minutes 22 seconds. GROUP OF SIX PEOPLE TOOK THE CLASSIFICATIONS After the push of front group, 3 classifications out of 4 in this stage were shared among those 6 people cyclists. Valentin Iglinsky of Asta team, Vladimir Isaychev of Katusha team and Christopher Jensen of Saxobank team tried to escape from the main group by pushing the tempo on the ramp. In last 19 km to the finish, the breakaway was decreased by main group and the amazing race of this difficult stage started one again. In last 10 km, the destiny of the stage began to become obvious. Main group seperated on the last sharp bend and steep ramp. In last 5 km, Ivailo Gabrosvki of Konya Torku Þekerspor managed to escape from the group with a great push and the breakaway went up to 35 seconds. Bulgarian cyclist continued to cycle with a great tempo. In last 4 km, the breakaway was 52 seconds. The cyclist of Konya Torku Sekerspor was worth seeing. And Turkey ranked first with a foreign cyclist in Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey after years. Set on a wide bay, strewn with many islands. Fethiye is 135 kms southwest of Marmaris and has an outstanding and busy marina. The ancient name of the city is Telmessos and you will see a fortress on the hill overlooking the city which was built by Knights of Rhodes. Fethiye is known for its rock tombs carved into the faces of the cliffs by the Lycians. These are elaborately carved and an especially remarkable; one is the tomb of Amnytas dating from the 4th century BC built in Doric architectural style. It is worth well visiting. It is not known when Marmaris was founded, but Physkos as Marmaris was previously known, was part of the Carian Empire in the 6th century B.C. when overrun by the Lydians. Another invasion by the Lydians in 334 B.C. led to the partition of the Roman Empire of Alexander the Great. According to the historian Herodotus, the Carians settled in what is now the province of Mugla after coming from Crete.
