BARBARA İSİMLİ TEKNENİN KARAYA OTURMASI/ GROUNDING OF THE BOAT CALLED BARBARA OLAYIN KISA ÖZETİ 27 Ağustos 2014 tarihinde saat de, Türk Radyo vasıtasıyla Ana Arama Koordinasyon Merkezi (AAKKM), İzmir ili Foça Orak Adası kuzeyinde içerisinde iki kişi bulunan Barbara isimli özel teknenin karaya oturduğu ve yardım talebinin olduğu ihbarı alınmıştır. Söz konusu ihbarın alınmasını müteakip görevlendirilen TCSG-81 tarafından icra edilen arama kurtarma faaliyeti neticesinde, şahıslardan biri TCSG-81 e alınmış, diğer şahıs kendi isteği ile teknenin parçalanmasını önlemek üzere teknede kalmıştır. Teknenin yedeklenmesi maksadıyla Foça Limanı ndan bir balıkçı teknesiyle koordine kurulmuş ve bahse konu tekne kurtarılarak Foça limanına intikal ettirilmiştir. SHORT SUMMARY OF THE INCIDENT On 27 August 2014, at am, the Turkish Coast Guard received a notification through Main Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) via Turkish Radio regarding the boat called Barbara which made a call for help as it ran aground on the north of the Foça Orak Island in Province of Izmir with two people on board. Following the receipt of the notification, the assigned boat TCSG-81 carried out search and rescue operations and transferred one person to the TCSG-81. The other person refused to leave boat in order to prevent the boat from being broken. For the purpose of backing up the boat, Coast Guard established coordination with a fishing boat from the Foça Port, rescued the said boat and transferred it to the Foça Port.

3 While sailing on my boat called BARBARA which has the license number registered to the Istanbul Port, on 27 August 2014 at about am in the Aegean Sea from Yenifoça towards Eskifoça, I had a marine accident by crashing to the rocks at the headland of Orak Island as there was not any lighthouse or warning lights around the island. After the incident, I informed the Coast Guard about the accident by radio through the emergency line. The officials whose names I do not know asked for my phone number and then called me. They asked about my life safety and made me calm down. They promised me to send aid immediately. In less than 30 minutes, the officials arrived to the scene and examined the accident. They saved my boat by pulling with a fishing boat and helped me transfer my boat from Foça Coast to the land. Besides that, they always supported me from the beginning of the incident till the end and called my phone many times to take information about my conditions. TORAMAN-I İSİMLİ TEKNENİN SÜRÜKLENMESİ/ THE DRIFT OF THE BOAT NAMED TORAMAN-I OLAYIN KISA ÖZETİ 13 Eylül 2014 tarihinde saat da, ALO-158 ihbar talep hattından, Balıkesir ili Bandırma ilçesi önlerinde içerisinde 2 kişinin bulunduğu 5 metre boyundaki TORAMAN-1 isimli özel teknenin makine arızası nedeni ile hareketten sakıt kaldığı ve yardım talep edildiği ihbarı alınmıştır. Söz konusu ihbarın alınmasını müteakip TCSG-29 tarafından icra edilen arama kurtarma faaliyeti neticesinde, bahse konu teknenin yeri tespit edilmiş ve bölgede bulunan özel bir tekne vasıtasıyla yedeklenerek Bandırma Limanı na intikal ettirilmiştir. SHORT SUMMARY OF THE INCIDENT On 13 September 2014, at pm, the Turkish Coast Guard received a notification through Call-158 Notification and Request Line regarding a private boat called TORAMAN-1 in 5 meters length which made a call for help as it broke down due to machine problem off the District of Bandırma in the Province of Balıkkesir with two people on board. Following the receipt of the notification, the Turkish Coast Guard boat called TCSG-29 carried out search and rescue operations and found out the location of the said boat. It was backed up by another private boat sailing in the same area and was transferred to the Bandırma Port.

6 On 13 September 2014, in the early morning on Saturday, I put out to the sea with one of my friends on his own boat in 5.5 m length from Erdek towards Bandırma. When we approached to Bandırma at 6.30 am, we had to struggle with huge waves resulting from storm that burst out suddenly between the Tatlısu and Bandırma Port. Fearing that the boat might sink, we took shelter with difficulty at a small bay which was rocky and close to the BAGFAŞ (a fertilizer factory). Just 4 meters before the rocks, we could anchor and stopped. After stopping, we realized that the boat was no longer working and the electric wiring was totally torn. We started waiting and then decided to call Coast Guard. They directed us and reached us by phone. The Commander of the Coast Guard Boat TCSG-29 called and asked about our situation. We told him that we stopped at a place near the rocks by anchor, the boat was swinging a lot and we had no light. And he promised to reach us as soon as possible. In 10 minutes, a boat approached us with 4 people on board. Due to the rocks, they had to stop 10 meters away from us. They told that they would take us to the Coast Guard Boat but we refused to leave our boat and said that we would stay on our boat till morning. I guess the staff on the boat called Lieutenant Junior Grade Gürhan, Commander of the Boat, he commanded them to wait there and to ensure our safety of life. So they waited for two hours in these huge waves 10 meters away from us. Although they stated for many times that they had to take us, we insisted on staying on our boat. Lieutenant Junior Grade Gürhan called us again to tell that we had no safety of life there and that he would come along with a trailer to pull our boat. They did not care for their life safety but ours, so he came with a trailer. As they could not approach us due to the rocks, they bound our boat to theirs by use of a drag rope and pulled us to a further place where they could bind our boat to the trailer. In this way, they pulled us until Bandırma Port and moored our boat near the Coast Guard Boat. They took care of us quite well and offered us meal and tea. Thanks to theirs efforts, we could survive this sailing without any damage. I would like to convey my deepest gratitude to Lieutenant Junior Grade Gürhan Commander of the TCSG-29, Second Commander of the boat, the electrician and all the other officers, petty officers and enlisted personnel on the boat. IRMAKIM İSİMLİ ÖZEL TEKNEDE BULUNAN 5 ŞAHSIN KURTARILMASI/ RESCUE OF 5 PEOPLE FROM PRIVATE BOAT CALLED IRMAKIM OLAYIN KISA ÖZETİ 06 Eylül 2014 saat te, ALO-158 İhbar talep hattından, İstanbul ili Pendik önlerinde içerisinde beş kişi bulunan IRMAKIM isimli 7 metrelik beyaz özel bir teknenin makine arızası nedeniyle hareketten sakıt kaldığı ihbarı alınmıştır. İhbarın alınmasını müteakip TCSG-106 tarafından icra edilen arama kurtarma faaliyeti neticesinde, teknenin yeri tespit edilmiş, arızası Sahil Güvenlik Bot personeli tarafından giderilmiş ve Pendik Limanına intikal etmesi sağlanmıştır. SHORT SUMMARY OF THE INCIDENT On 06 September 2014, at pm, the Turkish Coast Guard received a notification through CALL-158 Notification and Request Line regarding the private white boat in 7 meters lenght called IRMAKIM which broke down due to machine problem off Pendik in the Province of Istanbul with five people on board. Following the receipt of the notification, the Turkish Coast Guard boat called TCSG-106 carried out search and rescue operations and found out the location of the said boat. The Coast Guard boat personnel fixed the technical problem and ensured its transfer to the Pendik Port.

8 On 6 September 2014, I was stuck at sea off Pendik on my boat called IRMAKIM with my family and I called the Coast Guard for help through Call-158 Notification and Request Line. Following some phone calls and determination of our location, the Coast Guard Boat called 106 was transferred to us in a quite short time. The staff on the boat detected the problem on the boat and fixed it a serious spirit. They ensured our arrival to land in a safe way by accompanying us till the port. In this sense, I would like to thank all the staff on the boat, the personnel who provided the communication, especially to Mr. Mustafa and Mr. Oruç who made all the efforts to fix the boat. As a sea lover, I would like to state that my confidence has more increased and I feel proud of the Coast Guard that I was already trusting, who is always ready for us at sea, from whom I can always ask for help whenever I need. YENİKÖY SAHİLİNDEN DENİZE DÜŞEN ŞAHSIN KURTARILMASI/ RESCUE OF THE PERSON WHO FELL INTO THE SEA FROM THE YENİKÖY COAST OLAYIN KISA ÖZETİ 26 Eylül 2014 saat de, ALO-158 İhbar talep hattından, İstanbul ili Yeniköy sahilinde bir şahsın denize düştüğü ihbarı alınmıştır. Söz konusu ihbarın alınmasını müteakip SAGET-5 tarafından icra edilen arama kurtarma faaliyeti neticesinde, denize batan şahıs dalgıç personel tarafından denizden çıkartılmış, nabzının ve solunumunun olmadığının görülmesi üzerine, suni solunum ve kalp masajı yapılarak hayata döndürülmüş ve 112 Acil Servis Ambulansına teslim edilmiştir. SHORT SUMMARY OF THE INCIDENT On 26 September 2014, at pm, the Turkish Coast Guard received a notification through CALL-158 Notification and Request Line regarding a person who fell into the sea in the Yeniköy Coast in the Province of Istanbul. Following the receipt of the said notification, Coast Guard boat called SAGET-5 carried out search and rescue operations and the diving personnel took the person out of sea. After realizing that the person did not have heartbeat and breathing, the Coast Guard personnel resuscitated the person by applying artificial respiration and cardiac massage and delivered to the 112 Emergency Service Ambulance.

10 As a mother, I would like to express my deep gratitude for Volkan KINAĞ, Polat SEVEN and Mehmet GÖRGÜLÜ who saved my son Bahtiyar ÇAKMAK from drowning in Yeniköy on 26 September 2014, in the evening.
