Fluentinturkish.com Cases in the Turkish Language Grammar Cases Postpositions, circumpositions and prepositions are the words or morphemes that express location to some kind of reference. They are all called adpositions. In Turkish grammar, the type of adposition and its position in a sentence differ from the English grammar. Consequently, we will call them all preposition to make easy to understand. Turkish case suffixes can perform the function of some English prepositions to some degree. For example, the ablative case (-den & - dan) indicate the point of deperture and also comparison when attechted to the point of reference. However, most of the prepositions are single words. Examples: In (tr. içinde, içerisinde) At (tr. üzere, nezdinde, içerisinde) On (tr. üstünde) These are the most popular ones.
