This includes education to the young, festivals, seminars entertainments, other intellectual activities such as book, poem, opera, history clubs within its own organization. The main purpose of the association is to introduce Turkish Culture, through its activities. This year, FTAA actualized two library presentation, one Arts & Crafts Exhibition, one festival, special nights with other ethnic communities FTAA serves in Florida Turkish Center located in prime location of Fort Lauderdale. FTAA actualizes some of its activities outdoor such as Festivals, and picnics. Every Wednesday, volunteers and sponsors gives best samples of home cooked Turkish foods to its members with an affordable price. The members find this occasion as Florida Turkish Center operates from 2008, and hosting all of FTAA members a good gathering atmosphere. The volunteers contribute their skills in cooking in return of no benefit. The only benefit is friendship. FTAA sponsored by you and... Wednesday Dinners Did you send your annual membership fee? The Wednesday Dinners became unavoidable traditional event, of which the members racing with each other to sponsor. This event alone became most important income source to the association, after the festival. Thanks to all who volunteer their time and support. FTAA tries to emboss the event with seminars, or concert of its choirs.
FTAA NEWSLETTER October 2013 Page 2 ATATÜRK SCHOOL Volunteer Teachers: Ceylan Öner, Füsun Erim Coordinator: Zeynep Uluer Aytekin Weekend school is serving to the children who wants to learn Turkish language, as well as other subjects such as music, Turkish geography and history. The Turkish language classes to the adults will be given, in case of any request FTAA Turkish Heritage Days FTAA organized two Turkish Heritage Day in two librarires, namely Broward County Imperial Branch and North Regional-Broward College librarires, showing Turkish handmade costumes, singing Turkish songs. FTAA president Zeynep Uluer Aytekin made an opening speech, mentioning the culture of Turkey, hospitality of Turkish people and announced the upcoming festival. FTAA School & Chorus sponsored by The handmade crafts and Turkish traditional costumes are displayed. Special thanks to Serap Odabal Yiğit, Füsun Erim and all Turkish ladies who took place in those events for their continuous supports.

SunTrust Jazz Festival FTAA participated to the Jazz Festival organized by SunTrust, in Las Olas, Fort Lauderdale. By this way FTAA History Club - Fuat Ornarli Independence and Sovernity Day History Club Meeting FTAA History Club is meeting every 3rd Sunday of the month to discuss Ottoman history, History of close past in Turkish Republic of Atatürk. FTAA Poetry Club - Meral Ornarli One of Turkey Republic s national day has been actualized in Florida Turkish Center Ramadan Bayram Dinner Poetry Club meets every second Sunday of alternate month, in which the poetry lovers are discussing the pots, and his/hers poems. Traditional Ramadan Fiest Dinner was organized in Turkish Center, FTAA Book Club by Feza Aktan FTAA Book Club is meeting every alternate month. Book Club days will be announced soon. Keep an eye on our website www.ftaa.com FTAA Opera Club - Dr. Ali Manizade Dr. Ali Manizade and Dr. Vural Uluer organize an opera nights in which the popular opera films are being watched.
