02 İnsanları, kendi şehirleri için sorumluluk almaya teşvik eden bir ödül Her yıl düzenlenen Deutsche Bank Urban Age Award Ödülü, yaşam kalitesi ve çevresel kaliteyi birbirine bağlayan Urban Age misyonunu onurlandırmaktadır. İnsanların yeni tür örgütlenmeler yolu ile yaşadıkları şehirleri için sorumluluk almalarını teşvik etmek amacıyla ödül, toplumun yaşam standartlarını ve yaşanan fiziksel çevrenin iyileştirilmesini sağlayan girişim ve projelere verilecektir. Uluslararası alanda önem kazanmış kentsel planlama otoriteleri, tasarımcılar, işadamları, medya ve sivil toplum aktörlerinden oluşan bağımsız bir jüri, tüm gönderilen projeleri değerlendirecek ve 100,000 Amerikan Dolarlık ödülün sahibini (sahiplerini) belirleyecektir. Projeler en geç 11 Eylül 2009 tarihine kadar gönderilebilir. Deutsche Bank Urban Age Award ödülünün Kasım 2009 da teslim edilmesinin hemen ardından Urban Age İstanbul konferansı gerçekleştirilecektir. Ödül, İstanbul metropolitan alanı içerisindeki tüm projelerin katılımına açıktır. 2010 yılında ise Urban Age, Berlin de yer alacaktır. Ödül, London School of Economics and Political Science ve Deutsche Bank a bağlı Alfred Herrhausen Society tarafından düzenlenen ve uluslararası kentler araştırmalarının yürütüldüğü Urban Age Projesi kapsamında gerçekleşmektedir (www.urban-age.net).
03 A prize to encourage people to take responsibility for their cities The annual Deutsche Bank Urban Age Award celebrates the Urban Age mission that connects quality of life to the quality of the urban environment. Created to encourage people to take responsibility for their cities and form new alliances, the award will be given to projects and initiatives that improve the physical conditions of their communities and the lives of their residents. An independent jury drawn from an international community of urban leaders, designers, business, media and civic actors will evaluate all submissions and determine the winner(s) of the $100,000 prize. The deadline for submissions is 11 September, 2009. The Deutsche Bank Urban Age Award will be presented in İstanbul, Turkey, on 4 November 2009 to coincide with the Urban Age Conference in İstanbul on 5-6 November 2009. On this occasion the award will recognise a project located in the wider metropolitan area of İstanbul, the Urban Age 2009 focus city. The award is an initiative associated with the Urban Age project, an international investigation in cities organised by the London School of Economics and Political Science and Deutsche Bank s Alfred Herrhausen Society (www.urban-age.net).
04 Seçim Kriterleri Ödülün en önemli amacı, kentteki topluluklar arasında gerçekleşen, farklı aktörlerin biraraya gelmesi ile oluşturulan, çeşitli ortaklık ve girişimleri desteklemek ve bu tür projeleri tanımaktır. Projeler aynı zamanda bölge veya yerleşim halkının, iyileştirilmiş fiziksel çevre ve dolayısıyla sosyal refahlarının sağlanması veya arttırılmasını gerçekleştirmelidir. Bu anlamda çok önemli olan seçilebilirlik kriterleri şunlardır: Çok aktörlü ortaklıklar oluşturmak Yerli halka ve bölgede yaşayan topluluklara faydalı, gelişim veya dönüşümler sağlamak Yaratıcılık ve yenilik Sürdürülebilirlik Ortak vizyonları, gerçekleştirilmiş projelere dönüştürebilmek Başvuru Prosedürleri Ödül proje geçerlilik şartlarını sağlamış her projeye, ve projelerde yer almış her birey ve kuruluşun katılımına açıktır. Uygunluk Projeler İstanbul Metropolitan alanı içerisinde yer almalıdır. Projeler farklı paydaşlar arasındaki ortaklık ve işbirliğini gösterir olmalıdır. Projeler gerçekleşmiş olmalı, kullanıcılarına ve topluma ölçülebilir faydalar sağlamış olmalıdır. Projeler etnik veya dini değerlere dayalı herhangi bir ayrımcılık içermemelidir.
05 Selection Criteria The main scope of the award is to recognise projects and initiatives that encourage the alliance of diverse constituents or create partnerships between different stakeholders in urban societies. Projects must also demonstrate their ability to connect the social wellbeing of residents with an improved physical environment. The key selection criteria therefore include: Development of new partnerships and alliances Benefits to communities and local residents Innovation and creativity Sustainability Ability to convert shared visions into deliverable projects Application Procedure The award is open to individuals and organisations that have been involved in projects that meet the eligibility requirements. Eligibility Projects must be located in the wider İstanbul metropolitan area. Projects should demonstrate evidence of partnership and cooperation between different stakeholders. Projects must be realised and demonstrate measurable impacts for their users and the wider community. Projects must not discriminate on the basis of religion or ethnicity.
06 Jüri Kazanan Proje(ler) bağımsız jürinin oyçokluğu ile belirlenecektir. Jüri üyeleri Deutsche Bank Alfred Herrhausen Society ve Urban Age tarafından farklı disiplin ve bölgesel uzmanlıklara dayalı olarak seçilecektir. Ödül Ödülün amacı, seçilen projeye sürdürülebilirlik ve geliştirilebilirliği için finansal destek sağlamaktır. Bu seçim kişisel veya profesyonel anlamda bir doğrulamaya yönelik değildir. Resmi Proje ortakları ve/veya sponsorları (eğer mevcut ise) projenin yarışma için başvurusunu desteklemelidir. Bağımsız jüri, ödülün nasıl dağıtılacağına karar verme hakkına sahiptir. 07 Jury The winner(s) of the award will be decided by an independent jury through majority vote. The jury will be chosen by Deutsche Bank s Alfred Herrhausen Society and Urban Age, representing a mix of disciplines and regional experts. Award The purpose of the award is to provide financial support for sustaining and developing the project. It is not intended as a personal or professional recognition. Formal project partners and/or sponsors (if any) must support the application. The jury reserves the right to determine the distribution of the award.
