4 Foreword Önsöz ÖNSÖZ FOREWORD Bir toplumun bireylerinde mevcut bulunan sosyal miras, bütün bilgiler, inançlar, gelenekler ve yetenekler olarak tan mlanabilen kültür olgusu; toplumsal etkileşim ve ekonomik yap n n yönlendirdiği, üretim biçimi ile zaman içerisinde değişkenlik gösteren sürecin bir yans mas d r. Toplumsal doku, ekonomik tercihlerin de etkisi ile kültürel değişimi yönlendirmekte veya biçimlendirmektedir. Dolay s yla üretim ilişkilerindeki farkl laşma, toplumsal değişimi, beraberinde de kültürel farkl laşmalar doğurmaktad r. Bu kültürel farkl laşma, toplumdan topluma değişkenlik gösterdiği gibi, ayn toplum içerisinde de farkl ekonomik katmanlar n doğal sonucu olarak çeşitlilik göstermektedir. Günümüzde küreselleşme olgusunun h z kazanmas, iletişim araçlar ndaki baş döndürücü gelişim, teknolojik yenilikler ve turizm hareketliliği kültür etkileşimine daha kapsaml bir ivme kazand rmaktad r. Sosyal olaylar n sosyo-ekonomik yap ile biçimlendiği günümüzde, kültür olgusu toplumun ve bireyin hareket tarz n, yaşam biçimini ve tercihlerini etkilemektedir. Bu bağlamda; Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu nda kültür istatistiklerine ilişkin verilerden bir bölümü 1932 y l ndan itibaren derlenip değerlendirilmektedir y l nda ise ilk kez Kültür ve Eğlence Yerleri İstatistikleri başl ğ ile yay n ç kar lm şt r. The phenomenon of culture, which can be defined as the social heritage, the entire knowledge, beliefs, customs, and skills that are available to members of a society, is a reflection of a process which is orientated by social interactions and economic structures and it can change with type of production over a period of time. Cultural changes are orientated or formed by the structure of society influenced by economic preferences. Therefore, the differentiation in relationships of production leads to social changes, which bears cultural differentiation as well. Although this cultural differentiation differs among societies, it also exhibits variety as a result of different economic classes in the same society. Today, as a result of the speeding up of the phenomenon of globalization, the unprecedented development of mass media, technological innovations and the dynamism of tourism, the cultural interaction is gaining momentum. Today, when the social phenomena are being shaped by the socio-economic structure, the cultural phenomena are affecting the general practices, life styles and preferences of the society and individuals. In this context; TurkStat has been compiling some data on cultural statistics since In 1970, a publication was released for the first time under the title of Statistics on Culture and Entertainment Places. Y ll k veriler; y llar için ayn başl k alt nda tek bir yay n halinde, y llar aras nda ise her y l ayr bir yay n olarak sunulmuştur. Kültür İstatistikleri, 2013 yay n nda; kültürel miras, arşivler, kütüphaneler, kitaplar, gazeteler ve dergiler, görsel sanatlar, gösteri sanatlar, din, kültürel eğitim, kültürel mal d ş ticareti ve hanehalk kültür harcamalar istatistiklerine ilişkin bilgiler anket ve idari kay tlar yoluyla derlenerek kullan c lara sunulmaktad r. Yay n n, araşt rmac ve tüm kullan c lara yararl olacağ na inan yoruz. The annual data was presented under the same title in a single publication for the years , while it was released as separate publications annually from 1984 to "Cultural Statistics, 2013" publication, cultural heritage, archives, libraries, books, newspapers and magazines, visual arts, performing arts, religion, cultural education, foreign trade of cultural goods, household culture expenditures statistics provided to users via compiled from surveys and administrative records. EXPLANATION 1. Introduction: There have been various studies on methodology of cultural statistics developing by UNESCO since 1970 at international level. In fact the number of people employed, the public and private funds involved and the mass participation in cultural activities all imply that relevant statistical information on the sector has to be available. Therefore the leadership group on cultural statistics (LEG- Culture) was set up by the EU Statistical Program Committee in March Nowadays, studies on methodology of cultural statistics are developed by in cooperation with UNESCO and EU LEG-Culture. For the purposes of the new methodology of cultural statistics framework, culture is; creative artistic activity and the goods and services produced by it, and the preservation of human heritage. To compile data on culture, nine core domains are defined by EUROSTAT: 1. Cultural Heritage (historical monuments, museums, archaeological sites, others) 2. Archives 3. Libraries 4. Books and Press 5. Visual Arts(visual arts, photography, multidisciplinary) 6. Architecture 7. Performing Arts (theatre, operas and ballets, dance, concert, others arts) 8. Audiovisual Media (radio, television, sound recordings, multimedia) 9. Interdisciplinary To compile data on culture cycle from production to consumption, seven functional categories are defined: Creation: The origination and authoring of ideas and content (e.g. sculptors, writers, design companies). Production: The making of both one-off production (e.g. crafts, fine arts) and mass reproducible cultural forms (e.g. TV), as well as the specialist tools, infrastructure and processes used in their realization (e.g. the manufacture of musical instruments, the printing of newspapers). Dissemination: Bringing generally mass reproduced cultural products to consumers and exhibitors (e.g. the wholesale, retail and rental of recorded music and computer games, film distribution). Exhibition / reception: The provision of live and/or unmediated cultural experiences to audiences by granting or selling restricted access to consume / participate in often time-based cultural activities (e.g. festival organization and production, opera houses, theatres, museums). Consumption/participation: The activities of audiences and participants in consuming cultural products and taking part in cultural activities and experiences (e.g. reading book, dancing, listening radio, visiting art galleries).
