3 WHAT IS IT ABOUT? InterCultural Learning Association invites you to an international youth exchange project What Is Next financed by Youth in Action Programme. "What Is Next", taking place in Akçakoca, Turkey, will bring together 32 young people from 6 different countries. In this 8-day action, it is aimed to develop mutual understanding and tolerance between youngsters of different language, religion and culture. The project is directly planning to raise awereness about the increasing problem of youth unemployment. During day time there will be workshops on the related theme such as Personal Map, Self-Orienting, Goal Setting, Body Language etc, while there will be cultural night shows in the evenings where you can present your country. Touristical rides and historical visits will support this cultural interaction. Each participant, by being provided active participation and active citizenship will be informed about Youth Program and dissemination of youth projects. Raising awereness on subjects such as European citizenship, racism, mutual understanding and tolerance, "What Is Next" will not only lead youngsters to reflect about youth unemployment and intercultural dialogue, but will also develop social harmony among them. 4 WORKING METHODS: Presentations Discussing Groups Surveys Interviews Competitions GROUPS: Each country group will be formed by 4 participants and 1 group leader, 5 in total. Majority of the participants should be in ages between 18-25, 1 person for each group might be in 18-30 age balance. Team Building Activities Touristic Visits Paintball Activity Parties! High motivation & full participation and a basic level of spoken ENGLISH is required! Personal skills and talents will be welcomed!
5 ABOUT AKÇAKOCA Situated at the north west coast of Turkey, Akçakoca is a touristic summer city with 35.000 habitants overall which has 35 kilometers of wide sandy beaches by the Black Sea. 3 hours distance average to both Istanbul and Ankara, Akçakoca is environned by natural green colours and has a typical Black Sea climate which provides visitors with a fully fresh weather and an ineffable vigor. This place also offers its visitors a deep history as certain historical items, statues and parts of ancient buildings such as columns, walls of destroyed castles and hidden tunnels can still be found during random excavations. Named as Diapolis during Roman and Byzantium rule, this small city was once a ship trading center. Captured by Genoese in the 13rd century, after, Akçakoca was conquered in 1323 by Ottoman Empire under the command of Seigneur Akça Koca and since then this territory stayed under sovereignty of Turkish Nation until now, named as Akçakoca.
6 ADVANCED PLANNING MEETING Advanced Planing Visit will bring together group leaders of each country. This trip is just for group leaders. There will be 6 leaders from 6 different different countries who are going to represent their particular group in this meeting. Between the 4th 6th October, we are going to meet with group leaders in Akçakoca to assure a sustainable preperation for the project; handling the subjects such as project schedule, transportation issues, social activities, rules, aims, expectations, financial issues, health measures and other important matters. The organization will reimburse group leaders %100 of all travel expenses (plane tickets, bus tickets, train tickets etc.) upon submitting valid invoices and boarding passes. Each group leader must join this meeting to establish a substansive understanding among other leaders and to grow fundamental basis of further cooperations. 9 TRAVEL INFORMATION ADVANCED PLANNING MEETING (APV) 4-6 October Your travel has to be scheduled to arrive in SAW Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport or IST Istanbul Atatürk Airport not after than 13:00 on 4 Oct 2013. %100 of travel expenses will be covered upon submitting of valid invoices and boarding passes. Accomodation and food will be covered by the programme. PROJECT 18-26 October All group members must travel together. Arrivals have to be scheduled to arrive in SAW Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport or IST Istanbul Atatürk Airport not after than 13:00 on 18 Oct 2013. %70 of travel expenses will be covered upon submitting of valid invoices and boarding passes. Accomodation and food will be covered by the programme.
10 TRAVEL INFORMATION After APV you will be informed in details about airport tranfer. The hotel we will stay is 225 km from Istanbul and it takes 2 hours and 35 minutes by bus.
11 TRAVEL INFORMATION Çınar Hotel is 5 minutes far away from the beach and 25 minutes far from the center of Akçakoca (by walking).

13 CONDITIONS OF REIMBURSEMENT Your travel dates could be +/- 2 days than the event dates. All boarding passes have to be kept and brought. Each journey has to be presented by official invoice and ticket. You must have a travel insurance containing travel dates by your own funds and bring it with your travel documentation. Before buying your tickets you must contact with ICL Association for comfirmation. Each country group has limits for round trip travel reimbursement. Check it on the chart below. What is an INVOICE? This is a document, signed and stamped by the seller. The invoice of flight ticket must contain your name, the starting and finishing place and the date of the journey and the price of the ticket. Whatever official is your paper, if these data are not on it, you can not get it reimbursed! And use your full name as it is the same as your passport. E-tickets: An e-ticket is NOT an invoice! If necessary, call the airline/train company/etc., explain them the situation and ask them to give you a receipt/invoice. If you buy tickets online, take care that you tick the box indicating that you want an invoice. They must have STAMP&SIGNATURE of the Air Company or Travel Agency.
