Samim Saner İ.T.Ü, Viyana Teknik Üniversitesi ve Boğaziçi Üniversitelerinde Kimya Mühendisliği, Kimya ve Çevre Bilimleri konularında eğitimlerini tamamladıktan sonra Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Kimya Bölümünde çalışmaya başladı. RIPH-Royal Institute of Public Health'de Gıda Hijyeni konusunda Diploma derecesi aldı. 1991 yılında Kalite Sistem Laboratuarları (KSL) ve S&Q Mart'ın Türkiye operasyonlarının kurulmasında görev aldı, şu an ise KSL Genel Müdürlüğü görevini yürütmektedir ve ISACert Turkey'in Yönetici ortağıdır. Gıda Güvenliği Derneği Başkanlığı, Türk Akreditasyon Kurumu (TÜRKAK) Laboratuarlar Sektör Komitesi Başkanlığı, Sürdürülebilir Gelişme İçin Çevre Platformu Yürütme Kurulu Başkanlığı ve Kal-Der Çevre Çalışma Grubu Başkanlığı, Tüder ve Türklab'da Yönetim kurulu üyelikleri ile Boğaziçi Üniversitelerinde Öğretim Görevliliği görevlerini de yarı zamanlı olarak yürütmektedir. Toplam Kalite Yönetimi, HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC, IFS, GLOBALGAP gibi gıda güvenliği sistemlerinin sektörel uygulamaları ile gıda güvenliğinin laboratuar uygulamaları konusunda yurtiçi ve yurtdışında çeşitli eğitim ve danışmanlık projeleri yürütmüş olan Saner Tübitak Kimya Proje birincilik ödülü sahibidir ve çeşitli bilimsel ve teknik dergilerde yayınlanmış bir çok sayıda makalesi (Kalite, Çevre, Gıda Güvenliği ve Kimya) ve çeşitli kongre ve seminerlerde sunulmuş olan tebliğleri bulunmaktadır. Saner, Journal Food Analytical Methods ile British Food Journal uluslararası bilimsel dergilerinin yayın kurulu üyesidir, International Association of Food Protection, Royal Institute of Public Health, American Official Chemists Society, American Oil Chemists Society, Kimya Mühendisleri odası, gibi çeşitli kuruluşların üyesidir ve 2013 yılı itibariyle de İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi Gastronomi ve Bölümü Öğrencilerinin Food Satefy and Sanitation derslerinden sorumlu öğretim görevlisidir.
